Looked like Lamar could be seriously hurt. Ankle or Achilles injury, Browns up 17-0 early.

Just a matter of time. He cannot continue to run the ball as much as he has and not expect to avoid serious injury. It's been a miracle it has taken this long.

Like everyone else I love Lamar's game and was thrilled when he won the MVP, but I felt back then he was going to have to start running less and passing more.

Teams would adjust and the Ravens would need to do the same but every game I've watched this year, Lamar is still rushing the ball on designed plays too much.

I figured a serious injury would end up changing that. I hope this is just a near miss and he will be back soon and the offense will make the adjustment. If they have to sign a top RB to do it, then do it. Lamar is special and he is getting beat up.

I disagree. Running the ball is what makes Lamar who he is. The Ravens are built on a running game and he’s a big part of it. They had 3 RBs (Dobbins the biggest one) get hurt and they have had to makeshift with pickups. Their offensive line has also been decimated by injuries. As other posters have mentioned he was hurt on a pass play not a design run. Football is a physical sport, people get hurt.

Whew! That’s good news but they haven’t play well in about 5 weeks. Packers up next.

I understand the concern about him running the ball but it’s important to note that Lamar got hurt on the a pass play!

Seriously? You really believe I was saying he shouldn't scramble on pass plays?

Come on! It's the wear and tear of all the designed running that will take miles off of Lamar's body making him more susceptible to injuries.

That's what my concern is. He was tackled by the ankles and it didn't look that bad at all. I've seen Lamar being hit harder than that and him getting right up.

I love Lamar's running ability and it makes him special, but I don't believe it will win him a super bowl or have him playing as long as he should. All those hits are adding up, even those where he's scrambling on a pass play.

I wasn’t saying anything other than to note that he was actually injured on a pass play. You are probably correct that the cumulative effect of hits may ultimately shorten his career like it does for running backs. But I thought your post was implying he got hurt on a running play.

Truth be known when I heard that he got hurt I'm assumed it was on him running and not being sacked. Turned out he was scrambling but it didn't change the point I was making. Even if the Ravens changed the offense drastically, there would still be a need of some quarterback draws.

But how he's being used today in my opinion is not in his best interests.
