There's a real good chance he wins the Heisman Trophy. The numbers are just going to be overwhelming. Impressive how the head coach changed his whole offensive philosophy to maximize the production of his best player.

If he can do this against a good defense, his name will be mentioned.

I agree. Hes played good but he hasn't played anybody worth a damn yet. Don't they play Houston soon? If he does it against them then he will have a good chance.

400+ yard passing and 200 yards rushing is good against Mountain Centre College.

People discounting his first two games sound ignorant and need to put down the Blue Kool-aid. This guy is one of if not the best QB in college and Petrino may not have any morals, but the guy is a football genius who wins at every stop...and quickly.

Not at Atlanta, he didn't. In fact, he sucked there. But only the truly elite coaches can success at both levels.

I've seen people try to discredit him as a coach and like you said they need to stop drinking to much Blue Kool-Aid. He may be a prick but he is a heck of a coach.

What's crazy is, Lamar Jackson has 60 plays for 610 yards. Non-Lamar Jackson plays are 11 for 168. Lamar Jackson is great, but wow, this defense is worse than Kentucky's.

I would take the under 800 yards of total offense for UL vs UK but I'd be nervous about it.

Saban took a 4 win team; won 9 the next year; took a step back, the next year, then left. Not great, but not terrible. Honest Bob was terrible at Atlanta.
15-17 in the NFL. Not "success" by any reasonable standard.

Louisville has done all this while having a bunch of easy dropped passes and two fumbles lost by wide receivers. They might have scored 90 otherwise.

Bottom line is Lamar Jackson is a marvelous football player. One of those kids everyone needs to enjoy while they can.

Those kind of talents don't come around every day.

Didn't you say in a thread earlier that you haven't seen any genius coaching by Petrino since he has been back at Louisville?

Yes. Not much anyone can say to refute that.

The post was about Lamar and the poster wrote: "People discounting his first two games sound ignorant and need to put down the Blue Kool-aid."

Point those people out.
