I personally think he is N. Has a great relationship with the staff and the staff told him he can play CB here. Which he seems to favor.

Had Graham from ASU in house this week so MIGHT be tighter than some think

I wouldn't be too worried about ASU in this case, considering when Graham visited he hadn't even hired a DB coach yet. They just hired TJ Rushing yesterday, the same day as it sounds like has made a decision.

Sad that we have to battle with teams that have zero football tradition.. This is what makes recruiting season frustrating..

ASU has been better than NU for the past few years. That's all that most high school kids know about their traditions.

All depends on what you consider no football tradition they might not have any national titles but I would bet they are a top 20 team in winning pct. all- time.

UCLA is still actively recruiting him. ASU wants him to play Free Safety. Nebraska wants him as a #1 Corner.

With what Nebraska has offered him, I'm pretty sure USC and UCLA cannot compete… you know, the under the table stuff that you were hinting at in other threads with other potential recruits?
He s n but another kid with very little late recruiting activity around him like several other nu recruits. Its just different than most other recruits with their talent level. Any of them destined for juco?

I BELIEVE it's been known for several weeks now that the Huskers are his leader...myself i wish he'd just pull the trigger, kill off all the other recruiting and enjoy his final months in Cali with his friends. Might as well if he truely knows hes college now.

ASU has 595 wins and a .611 winning percentage. Pretty good, actually, and a tough team to go head to head with recruiting wise in this day and age.

He can't just pull the trigger. He's doing the bleacher report announcement video. They want a few teams on the table for the suspense of the video.

Many recruits have done the hat thing (or some similar announcement) at different all-American-type games following their senior football season...

but has any recruit ever done that and picked the Huskers?

I know it seems like we always lose these but, yes, we have won some of these too. Todd Peat Jr. announcement was like this in front of his school. I always remember this one due to the fortunate license plate he saw the night before. He ended up a bust but at the time of LOI day, that was a very big get.

According to Some smart recruiting folks, he wants to play Corner. However, chicks at UCLA and Arizona State can change your mind..

Corners (on average) make a lot more $ in the NFL then Safeties. Corner has become a "rock start" position in the NFL, where most people cant name 5 safety's in the NFL (of course present company excluded). If my ambitions as a young man are to play in the NFL, I want to play corner over safety. And experience @ corner in college is needed. So, this one seems like a no brainer. Plenty of hot girls at UNL that need to be cuddled up with on a cold winters day. Can't do that in LA or AZ.

If we lose Lamar, it will be the sales rep's fault 100%. No question. Hell, let me sale the kid. I'd do it in 10 minutes.

our ability to rely on tradition as any factor in recruiting is slim and becomes slimmer with each passing year of irrelevance. These kids don't care how good we were back in the 90s when many weren't even alive.

This is what worries me a bit as LOI approaches. Our current coaches all remember and probably think of Nebraska in terms of those dominating teams. I hope they aren't just expecting all these kids to pick Nebraska just because we are Nebraska. Nebraska's biggest recruiting advantage used to be winning, playing for titles, in big time bowl games etc. That advantage no longer exists which levels the playing field and frankly puts Nebraska at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting against teams like ASU.

It didn't hurt that both UA and ASU were in coaching turmoil. Not the case now. Graham is a snake oil salesman but he is a salesman and tough to outpitch.

Lol...imagine how Texas and Texas a&m must feel losing croots to Baylor and TCU. College football at its finest man. The days of programs getting by on past greatness with croots are over. You better get u some coaches who can reCROOT their asses off or some very friendly bag men...or in some cases..BOTH lol. Tradition is a beautiful thing and I'd rather have it than not but some great recrooters and coaches over trump tradition with kids these days.

Sell or sale not sure which one but it's mos def not sail. Ha. But I'd love to take this job. I would bet my life that I would out recruit this current staff on my own. Our staff is really nerdy and lame. Sadly, not cool hipster "nerdy' like Tim Miles but old man "out of tune" nerdy like your grandpa. And lets not even talk about Hank & Bruce. I'd love to see how awkward these two dipsh**s are in living rooms of recruits. I'd like to think Hughes is like Hank Hill in recruiting but I'd imagine that Hank Hill would land some Texas kids. But at least Hughes is a fine D-Line coach. Bruce has no hope. He's a 100% fuc*tard, who supposedly does "many things" that no one can explain. He's this staff's Barney with out Barney's ability to recruit walk-ons.
Wow.

I'm going to go ahead and say Bray and Williams are not out of tune old nerdy grandpa like!!!! You sure do seem confident in your skills to be able to convince kids to come to Lincoln. You must have some experience under your belt?

Confidence is the biggest part in sales my friend. Bray & Williams do ok but that's 20% of the staff.
