They spent a lot on talent. There were major issues with coaching, discipline and culture that tanked IUs season. Doubt we will see similar culture and discipline issues going forward. What went on at IU is crazy considering Woodson was a Knight guy. Then why didn’t they buy better talent last year ?
There’s no one to follow at IUI think he is ours
Remember that Dent followed ucla players before committing
The equipment manager? LOL!There’s no one to follow at IU
Don’t want to hijack the thread but didn’t want to start another thread. Not really. Cook inc, is the big one. Cuban can’t as he still owns part of the mavericks. Good luck fellas. Now we wait. Sounds like everything is nailed down just needs to choose.
who is cook inc?Not really. Cook inc, is the big one. Cuban can’t as he still owns part of the mavericks. Good luck fellas. Now we wait. Sounds like everything is nailed down just needs to choose.
Yes…he has done that already. He built the Cuban academic center. He will not give directly to collective.Don’t want to hijack the thread but didn’t want to start another thread.
I really have not paid attention to the details of how the existing “NIL” works but it just seemed it was pay for play. So as far as the Mark Cuban thing goes I had a few questions:
-thought I read something a month or two ago that he was willing to commit huge dollars to IU for NIL? Since he is a part owner of an NBA team you are saying this is not allowed?
-do the Universities under the existing rules contribute to the funds used to get players? If so couldn’t Cuban just donate huge amounts to IU to fund “academics” thus freeing up IU money to contribute?
Again I don’t follow that closely so I don’t know.
Carl cook is worth 10.7 billion. Cook inc is worldwide medical device innovator. Headquarters in Bloomington. Cook hall was built by his dad. His CEO is in charge of Hoosier Connect. His name is Pete yonkman. Sorry as I want to answer these questions but don’t want to hijack your thread. Another big donor is the Simons.who is cook inc?
where are they located?
Not until the House Settlement 22 Million stuff happens. NIL in and of itself can't come directly from the University but once the Revenue Sharing from the House Settlement becomes law and all that gets settled schools will have 22 mil a year to split between all the athletes in all their athletic programs that can come directly from the athletic fund.-do the Universities under the existing rules contribute to the funds used to get players? You forgot to say we needed a Coach!!It has felt like we have been "one player away" for multiple years here. Which sucks.
This past year we were missing another guy who could just go get you a bucket, no matter what. Oweh could do it to a point, but we needed another playmaker/shot creator like that.
In 2023, we just needed 3 of the 5 freshman to be really, really good in order to make a Final Four. Only 2 of them ended up doing that, while Bradshaw/Edwards/Wagner really struggled.
2022 we needed another scorer/shooter desperately, but Cal wouldn't do it because he was protecting Wheeler/Livingston/Toppin, etc., he barely even took Antonio Reeves and sat him on the bench half the year!
In 2010 we needed a shooter besides Darnell freakin' Dodson, cost us against WVU.
In 2016 we needed a reliable big man with a pulse, wasted one of the best backcourts in America with Murray/Ulis.
In 2019 we needed a wing scorer off the bench, all we had was Jemarl Baker backing up Herro/Keldon Johnson, which came back to bite us against Auburn when Herro really struggled.
Etc. etc.
It has just always felt like we filled the cup up about 90-95% of the way, instead of getting that last piece to take us to 105%.
And despite how well the portal has gone so far, it feels like that with this roster still. Get a guy like Wilkerson/Yates/Pierre, and I don't feel like that anymore.
No I don’t know what you mean man
No I don’t know what you mean man
Rumor..1.9 mill for Uk. 2.8 million for IU. Heart says UK. Head says IU.
No I don’t know what you mean man
I’m gonna pray he comes here and leads Pope out of Mormonism straight to Regular Jesus Christ. If you pray then do the right thing and pray that the kid will go where God wants him to go as opposed to where we want him to go
For people who pray that could be a factor in their decision. They would never say it but that’s just how it is.I’m gonna pray he comes here and leads Pope out of Mormonism straight to Regular Jesus Christ.
That way everybody’s happy. Except the Mormons. But they’ll be okay. They seem to have deep pockets.
Indiana fans are full of it……. I still wonder why did Pope agreed to play them again….

He looking for reason to insult our program all the way to Rupp.
Couple of slight clarifications here. The revenue sharing cap is $20.5M ... not $22M. And schools won't just necessarily 'have' $20.5M to spend on athletes. It will be an item that they'll have to budget among all other athletics revenues and expenses. Many schools won't likely be able to spend that full amount on athletes ... particularly schools outside the SEC or B10.Not until the House Settlement 22 Million stuff happens. NIL in and of itself can't come directly from the University but once the Revenue Sharing from the House Settlement becomes law and all that gets settled schools will have 22 mil a year to split between all the athletes in all their athletic programs that can come directly from the athletic fund.
