I need some gazing balls... not that there's anything wrong with that.

You don't happen to have a really small pool do you?

Is that a statue/bird bath of a youth bowler? I can't tell what's going on there. And I don't find the tiny pool that funny. I think those folks got it figured out. Yea, they might not have an acre, or even a half an acre, but damnit they got a lil pool and that's worth something on a hot a steamy day like today. Got a nice lil cover for it, too.

You should see this monstrosity of a waterfall/creak thing this house built near my neck of the woods. It's unreal. I don't know why they did it. They must have hit the lotto because they did a lot of renovations and made this big fake waterfall/creek thing which never ever works, and now the house is up for sale...

That rock pile thing on the left. It's uniquely ugly af...kind of like the house.

Yes, I think it worked years ago when they put it in, but the thing just looks like a maintenance pain.

How the hell do you get to the front door? I don't see any steps leading up to that porch that is 12 ft off the ground.

That's the beauty of it. No visitors allowed. If they would have continued the moat all around property would be very cool.

*the steps are off on the right side I think.

Wife and I bought a new place and will be moving in August. Has a great backyard, patio and deck. The deck is about 36 inches off the ground and right now, they just have weeds underneath it. I'm looking at getting rid of the leaves, putting a barrier down and rock on top of that and maybe a small landscape bed around the perimeter. Any other suggestions? You can kind of see the deck in this picture (best one I have right now).

Congrats on the new place, looks like a great outdoor entertaining space. Wish I could get my grass come in like that also.

That's dope. I would put something around the deck to hide the underneath. Like idk...boxwoods? Surround your nice little shed with some hyrdrangeas or something. TREES, you can get some of those to put somewhere.

Put in a couple of red maples this spring (about 10' tall) and the leaves always look wilted. Where I planted them is ****** soil (clay). Anything I can do at this point to help them along?

Those are pretty big trees to start. I'd bet watering is the issue.

They need at least one good deep watering per week, preferably two. Surface sprinklers won't come close to getting the job done, especially in this weather.

A slow flow from your hose for a few hours will work. If that's too much of a pain, you can use 5 gallon buckets with 3-5 small holes drilled in the bottom and refill them every couple of days.

It's a pain, and the buckets don't look great in the yard, but trees need it during the first year. Other species might need it for two years, but yours are maples. Once they're rooted in, they'll start growing like crazy regardless of what you do.

Just got done installing two exterior rugs, two monster deck boxes and an 11' square cantilevered umbrella on my deck.

Sunbrella Jockey Red --FTW.

Gator bags would do the trick and not get the neighbors jibber jabbering like the buckets would
