I don’t know what goes on in practice, but Sellers should be allowed to put a foot up the *** of everyone of our OL. We have had plenty of bad OL play around here, but this line has too much talent to be playing this damn soft.

it is past time this team hold each other accountable for the product we are putting on the field.

I totally understand your point. I get it....

BUT....

IMHO, he ain't got no room to talk anything, to anyone as long as he keeps spinning out of trouble to get free....to only run out of bounds for a 5 yard loss WHEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TOSS IT OUT OF BOUNDS AND SAVE THE 5 yards....

He continues to do it!! It's unacceptable. #1 pick and Heisman my behind..... He ain't ready. Needs another year.

I think the problem now is he's worried about getting another grounding penalty when throwing it away. He's gotten plenty of them this season.

Sellers comes across as playing a little soft too. Not lowering his shoulder for that first down bothered me.

Granted, they reviewed and he got it. But that was close, too close, and he didn't appear to put a lot of effort in there.
Too much hype too soon has ruined many a football player.
Which points to a larger issue, and this was mentioned in 107.5. He doesn’t seem “happy” or playing with passion. That goes for a good portion of the offense in particular.
And maybe this is what Beamer is alluding too, but I don’t see guys that are hungry out there. At all.

Agreed. There was talk this season of him protecting himself from injury. I personally dont buy that hes gotten paid and gotten lazy.

But something has sure taken the fire out of the offenses belly.

This Team has zero leaders on it - Sellers is the face of this program and should be a coach on the field and that includes calling players out when they mess up but he goes to the bench and takes a seat.
As David Bennett said, this team needs to act like dogs instead of cats

Maybe it's time to admit, that we really don't have that much talent on the OL. It's ok to state that we don't have the players to match up against other squads.
I know no one wants to call out these kids but it is becoming obvious we don't match up well.

I rarely golf. Played 9 sometime last year. Played 18 yesterday. Can’t tell you the last time before those, when it was that I played actual golf (not miniature golf or top golf). Probably over a decade. I don’t enjoy it much- was reminded of that yesterday. I had sorta been looking forward to it but when yesterday arrived I thought “eh, would rather not do this.” But it was absolutely a better decision and still more enjoyable than watching that football game.

Physically we do, but between the ears we are lost.

I speak of the talent on the OL based on the recruiting rankings, and i believe many others do as well.

Did we miss on all those guys? Were they all overhyped coming out of highschool?

I suppose its easier for me to believe a single point of failure (coaching) than believe we consistently misevaluated all those HS recruits.

I obviously could be very wrong.

OL is definitely one of the harder positions to project. We have had our fair share of 4 star misses over the years. We brought in 2 5 stars in the same class. One of which has already transferred. I find it hard to believe we have just “missed” on these guys.
What’s quite ironic, is the only reason we were really even close in the game yesterday was all the penalties Oklahoma committed. We were blemish free for a good bit of the game yesterday.
Communication was brought up by Henry early in the year, and the center position has been a major weak link. I just find it hard to grasp, that we can’t scheme something to our strengths.

Occam's Razor...

Did we miss on that many guys? Or, is there a simpler explanation?

You're not wrong.

Some of these "kids" already make more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes.

Surely, our lack of OL talent could explain getting pushed around by teams like Oklahoma, LSU, and Vandy (I throw up a bit in the back of my mouth saying that), but when you fail to run the ball with any effectiveness whatsoever against the likes of Virginia Tech and SC State, your problems go beyond talent. If we were merely trying to figure out why our OL is bottom half of the SEC, that would be one thing, but we're one of the worst in all of FBS football right now.

The SC State game should have been fair warning. I knew it at the time and didn’t want to believe how bad it was.

If he were on a team with a competent O line, and thought he had a legit shot at the playoffs, then he would probably be playing at that level, but he's running for his life on nearly every play. Compound that with the 1980s play calling that leaves him with no other options than to run or be sacked, then it's not hard to see why he's playing this way. Would you risk your future behind this o line? He's probably worried about a blind side hit or acl tear on every play. I honestly can't blame him for protecting himself
