Larry Nance Jr. had a big game last night for the Trail Blazers against the Bulls and showed up for his postgame press conference wearing his brother's jersey!

So, does Pete get a look by the league if he has a big year this year? A tall, athletic guy with the ability to shoot from distance has to be worth a look.

He'll get a look. Doubt that he sticks, probably plays G League for a year.

I think he’s definitely on a summer league roster. Lots of guys (Lumpkin, Ryan Taylor) make summer league rosters, but I’m sure there are teams that would consider him a good D-League candidate with a chance to make it.

If nothing else, his name will get him a chance. What he does after that is up to him!

Pete has a chance. If I were him I would be thinking graduate student year.

Scottie Lindsey is doing well on the Bulls affiliate.

If he has the type of season he's capable of having and leads the team where they want to be, he's got a chance. I agree is he doesn't show it this year, there will be some pull to give postseason another go next year with Young, Buie, Audige, and Beran all seniors. I'm not saying it's likely, but I could see it happening.

I was thinking from his perspective. He plays well this year he starts getting looks. He comes back even stronger and more confident and, who knows, he starts having buzz at being drafted.

As I recall, when he retired from his playing career, Jim Stack was the career leading scorer in the Belgian Euro League. I'd have to think that Pete could find his way onto a roster in one of the Euro leagues. Great way to work on your game while seeing the world.

Playing full-time against grown men is a far better way to develop your skills than against college students is.

I’m not disputing that statement. However, in my mind it’s a lot more about getting noticed. Going the trying to get on draft boards route.

Pretty impressive growth, especially in his mindset, aggressiveness and leadership. If you keep playing like this the cats could go along way this year.

All of those have infinitely less chances for Nance to get drafted as than as a 5th year season.
Let's face it, Pete isn't one of the best 64 players in the world, he's not getting drafted no matter how many years he plays at NU. and I love me some Pete Nance.

Agreed although he’s the closest from a talent perspective to getting drafted during the Collins era.

I don’t dispute the chances are low. However, he’s a kid I get the idea he’s a year or two behind where he could be. His decisions in HS probably has a bit to do with it.

Late bloomer, who knows, he leaps in his confidence next summer the way he seems to have leaped this year. Kid can dream, can work his butt off for it.

Vic law got closer to his ceiling than Nance did at NU. Although that is the only other possible “draftable talent” during the Collins era. I think the NBA is also a little to in love with 7 footers who can shoot. Which is why I’d put nance higher imo. Although I’d say give me the lockdown defender who can knockdown 3’s any day. (Klay Thompson for best example).
