Thanks for sharing the tweet. I would hate to see anybody transfer out but unfortunately that's a fact of life at any football program. The conclusion of spring FB is usually a time when we'll see players decide to move on for one reason or another. I don't want to get into speculation, but the player you mention doesn't seem to have had a lot of progress moving up the depth chart, which is one of the key reasons for transferring.

Is he a OG or OT. Could this possibly open up a spot to take Cole Bentley is my thinking.

IIRC, Larubbio had knee surgery following his senior year in HS that required him to RS his true freshman year at UK. That put him behind and he never seemed to catch up. Wish him well whatever he decides to do.

MAC level talent. Hence why he is going to Miami Ohio. Wish him the best but won't be missed. Stoops and co struck out on that entire Oline class

Man, that 2014 OL class (Krok, Richardson, LaRubbio, Stallings) I was so excited about has completely fallen apart. Not a good way to build OL depth.

Larubbio and Krok had injury problems, Larubbio before he got to campus and Krok after he came. Richardson apparently lost his desire to play. It's far too early in Stallings' career to think of him as a bust as the last I saw he was running 2d team behind Toth. Stallings also has OG experience so that versatility could pay off.

Actually a good sign that we ARE building depth in the oline. In the past, he's probably starting or at least in the 2 deep. 2014 Oline has been supplanted by 2015's and 2013's. I do think Bunchy will turn out to be a good get though. But this is why you keep recruiting. Keep getting top 20-30 classes and you'll eventually build that depth. We're almost there. Appears oline is in better shape than it has been.

I agree on Bunchy. But I was also high on the other three so who knows. What sucks is now that we're down to one OL in the 14 class and we only have three left from the 13 class (Meadows, Haynes, Meyers) that means we only effectively signed 4 OL in Stoops' first two classes. Not nearly enough considering the lack of talent and depth he inherited.

Honestly Bunchy was one of steals that year. He still hasn't made a significant impact YET. However at the time he had an offer from Miss St. He has great size and huge potential.

All schools lose players as the years go by. Whether these loses are extraordinary, who knows.

Bunchy is running with the twos at center as a rising RS Soph.

Legit O-line talent going into the fall
Toth
Bunchy
Drake
Meadows
Leavitt
Wolfe
Landon
Haynes
Ramsey
Big George
Mosier
probably Fortner

looser = even less tight

loser = the one that did not win

Since this is a tweet I felt it was free game.

This is a UK forum so keep sharing all inforrmation you can get. Seems pretty silly to delete relevant information just because it came from a different source. If writers don't want other sites getting credit for the info then they should report it themselves.

Another point, the small 2017 class gets bigger for some improved classes' numbers balance.

LOL!! No, it hasn't. Football is a competitive game. Every football team losses players who can't deal with the depth chart. This time of year, some players move up and others move down. Here are starters from the 2014 class. Baker, Barker, Edwards, Elam, Juice, Ware, Boom. Also on the playing chart are Bone, Firios, Horton, Middleton, Walker, West. Jucos Johnson, Flannigan, Stamps came in the 2014 class and started while they were here. It was actually an excellent class, especially under the circumstances at the time, coming off a 2-10 season.

Yes, this is definitely an issue to watch. By my current count, Kentucky's roster is at, or maybe still 1 over, the 85 scholarship limit if all of the February signees enroll. Usually, someone doesn't qualify. Kentucky is scheduled to have 8 seniors this year. There are already 11 verbal commitments to our 2017 class, and Stoops is still recruiting Wills, Gray, Ajian, Paschal. So apparently, Stoops is still anticipating several more departures.

Blue,

Go back and look closer at his comment. He was only stating the OL from that class has taken a major hit based on the promise it once had. Who wasn't excited about Krok & Richardson? At the time, those guys looked to have starter potential by this season.

Regardless, it does help with the total scholly limit, and, like others, I wish him the best @ Miami OH

Not unusual for 3rd stringers to transfer. Players want to play. That's why you keep on recruiting positions.

Best of luck to him.

What concerns me about Bentley is the fact that he was throwing the shot put about 38 feet in 2015. Not sure if that distance has risen appreciably this year or if he is even still throwing, but it does suggest some attention to overall strength and agility might be in order. Or perhaps he is just a strong lad whose physique is ill-suited for that event. You can check the results on milesplit but the current year is behind a paywall.

I never did shot put but I had friends who told me that technique is more important than raw physical strength. That could be a lie, but I don't think I would put too much stock in such an unrelated event.

Quality OL depth takes years to develop in the SEC. If we keep having guys leave after their second year because they're not in the two deep then we'll never have good depth down the road.

You have to clear space on the roster. I am sure Stoops and schlarman gave larrubio a fair evaluation of his future here. Guys that transfer down generally where not sec talents anyways.
