This bracket is already more than a week old, but I saw nothing about it, so I posted it.

Looks like a bunch of mediocre teams vying for... not sure.

Butler and DePaul are in the field if that compels anyone to watch... or even check the results.

Bunch of teams in there with losing records. Colorado finished dead last in the Big12 with a 3-17 league mark.

They obviously didn't get the teams they wanted, they just had to keep going down the list until teams said yes.

Not only are these teams underwhelming, there's also the whole portal thing. UCF is playing Oregon State and UCF has 4 guys in the portal and Oregon State's best player just entered the portal. So it's going to be second-rate rosters of second-rate teams, like low-level bowl games.

The Crown might've seemed like an interesting idea (power conference hoops in a dead spot in the calendar between the Elite 8 and Final 4) but in practice it's clearly not working out. If the portal continues to open when it does and they want to keep doing this the first week of April, the Crown's dead unless they do something like offer the winning team $5 million to split. Give players like 25K to show up and they might stick around for a shot at 400K.

well got ta shake the box and c if there is any cash in it......enough people to sit on their coach and stare at the tube and dream of Ray Meyer's return....never know....television execs can smell a penny stuck under a coach cushion from a mile away. What would happen if we all started reading books again?

Butler is my 3rd favorite team, I go to 5-8 of their games a year and I'm still not compelled to watch

I'm actually less interested in this than the NIT, of which I had no interest in a field that's basically the CBI.

At first I was disappointed the Cats didn't play in either.

Now, I will admit they were right.

The NIT is okay by me!
At least most of the teams in it had winning records, something their fans could be interested in.
UC-Irvine is 30-6 and hosting UAB 24-12 tonight.
If I'm an Anteaters fan, I'm fired up for that game.
Kent State (24-11) plays in Chicago tonight in Loyola's (24-11) concrete arena.
Chattanooga was 26-9 going into their game against Bradley 28-8 in Peoria.
Chattanooga came from 13 down at halftime to win by 2.
North Texas is now 27-8 after winning by 2 at Oklahoma State.
These teams play pretty good basketball - and they're trying to win.

The Las Vegas tournament will only remind most fans that their team had a bad season.
I would have liked to see us in the NIT, hopefully winning some games.

Had the Cats been healthy. I think they would have considered the NIT, but not the way things were. The Crown field is horrible .

The 'Cats would have been contractually compelled to play in the Crown. The NIT was not an option. I think that's a major reason that so many teams are sitting out both tournaments. If they had been allowed to play in the NIT, I think more teams would have.
