I predict BobPSU92 to be reclining on his naugahyde chair with a pumpkin spice scone in one hand, pumpkin spiced latte in the other hand, and watching the 1st quarter, muttering to himself, "We deserve better, we deserve better, ... Fire Franklin... I need another latte... and another hand to look at Midnighter's babes at the bar".....

This is what we're up against.

48-3 At least 3 explosive plays on O over 30 yards, turnovers on D, one rusher over 100 yards, cover the spread by the half, subs play entire 4th quarter, Drew passes for over 200 yards on less than 20 throws.

We are on upset alert down here in NC. Duke football is fired up! When has anyone ever said that before?

Coach Cut did a good job of building a decent foundation for Duke football. Elko is certainly doing well!

I worked at Duke for almost five years - including when he persuaded Alabama to come to play.

A little concerned. Just because 11am kicks have not been kind to PSU
I am not sure if this means anything or not - my guess is "maybe, but probably not much" - but PSU hasn't played in many pre-noon local time kickoff games, here they are since 2010 (apologies if I missed one):

In any event, this 2023 PSU team losing to this 2023 NW team would be beyond shocking - whether they played at 2 in the afternoon, or 2 in the morning, in Evanston or on the Moon:

At Wisconsin 2021 - PSU w (mild) upset win, IIRC
At Nebraska 2020 - Lost
At Minnesota 2019 - Lost in (mild) Upset, IIRC
At Northwestern 2017 - Won
At Northwestern 2015 - Lost
At Illinois 2014 - Lost
At Minnesota 2013 - Lost
At Illinois 2012 - Won

At Minnesota 2010 - Won

Mine: PSU wins big, covers the spread, and our fans are still not happy.

Gonna have to DVR to watch later but I think this play out a lot like Illinois. Slow and methodical - nothing flashy, but cover the spread. Just hope nice weather and no injuries.

I like this. Not sure of the 48. I’d be more inclined to be in the 38 range.

Shocked about Gameday being here. Interesting quiet confidence over at Duke.

Weather not a factor. Currently in the mid 60's with highs in the mid 70's. Big win for NW last week, but not this week.

48-17....expect some long runs and long passes. We need that on tape to give Ohio State and Michigan something else to have to prepare for.

I'm going with PSU 45-13.

Balanced attack yardage-wise, but heavy on the run until they show they can contain it. Let the Big Boys grind and pound and get the RBs a few TDs. Enough passing, especially to TEs, to keep them from loading the box too heavily too often. Defense does its thing, and NW gets its TD either early or late, but has minimal success in the middle 40 minutes of the game. Defense gets a score, maybe?! Woo Hoo!

PSU only winning by 7-10 points at halftime but pulls away during H2 to win by 27.

^^^^ This. Might be a close score at the half, but PSU wears them out in the second half and pulls away for a comfortable win, including a garbage time TD which WVU football coach will call a press conference to complain about how PSU piles on every opponent and doesn't play with a pure, moral compass against a lesser team.

3-2 in a defensive battle. Felkins hits the game winning FG as time expires.

JK.... 42-14. Either Kaytron or Singleton goes over 100 yds, Allar over 300 yds passing, D forces at least a couple turnovers.
