Just go home from the game and I haven't heard this mentioned ...We were at Wendy's by the stadium after the game talking with an ex-UK player and a guy who worked the sidelines last night...They both said that the last play of the game should have been a UK td...Why?...Both said that Towles was NOT down and that he flipped the ball to Jon Toth and he ran the ball to the end zone and the officials were standing around talking about the play , but the coaches all ran to the locker room with no one to challenge the play so the refs just went ahead and called the game because no one stayed on the field...For those of you that watched the game on tv , was this even mentioned or did you notice?...Strange happening , but both of the guys said if CMS would have stayed on the field it would had to be overturned and UK would have won the game..

It did appear that Towles was on top of the Vandy player and not touched the ground. when he flipped the ball to Toth. The camera even followed Toth down the field, but they then panned to the rest of the players and everyone was at mid-field. Never addressed it on the broadcast so I just assumed they ruled the play dead.

If that was true, it's evidence of even more incompetence from our coaching staff.

I just watched it on the watch ESPN APP. OMG Towles was NOT down! He pitched it backwards to Toth. 110% legal plan and Toth took off...omg wow

The whistle was blown and the ball was dead. The officials didn't wait to call a touchdown. Toth stopped running because the officials told him to. And, Towles was down.

If the play was blown dead, and if it was reversed there would have been one un-timed down from the spot where they inadvertently blown the play dead. It would not have been a touchdown regardless of him running it in.

So we played like **** and should have won. You are not smart.
Actually I don't nor does a lot of others think we played that bad. The play calling was pretty terrible without a doubt. We out gained them and really outplayed them!

But its cute you get all tough and insulty hiding behind a keyboard lol. After the 54098325034985098327 other plays like that that has gone against UK. Would have been nice to get a bounce go our way for once!

Strange both the player and guys who was working the sideline said you are wrong...Should have been UK td...The sideline guy was a VANDY guy...PLEASE stay on the basketball board

I think the play was blown dead because his forward momentum had been stopped. Besides, is not like Jordan Swindle was going to make it to the ezine anyway. The Vandy players didn't drive his *** into the ground because the whistle blew.

To be fair I just rewatching the play for the first time...even though it was questionable probably not enough to overturn it...

Two things:

One of the most basic rules in football is that when the whistle blows the play is dead. That occurred.

The other is that a player has to cross the goal line to score a TD. That didn't,

The whistle had blown the play dead. You could hear it over the TV. It was blown a bout 10 times as Toth was running. Once the whistle is blown the play is over.

There was one official waving his hands over his head as if he was signaling to either stop the clock or time had run out.

It appeared that Toth thought the ball was still in play. I too, was curious why nothing was said or brought up about it.

I thought it was the most unorganized that the team and staff had been all year.

Calling timeout before punting and failing to call it for a field goal blew my mind. The poor performance on a couple of series on 2 yard line also were at top of my confusion list. The fans needs some answers as to what is going on with the team and coaching staff. I'm not saying anyone should be fired, but someone is responsible for some sloppy decisions and indecision.

I think Stoops has dug a large hole and needs to do some explaining. jmho

^ I agree things need to be explained, but we are kidding ourselves if we think that a coach is going to tell the fans anything besides. We need to coach better. This is on me. Just same ole garbage.

I'm just tired of hearing how great we are Monday-Friday to only suck on Saturday. I can take losing a game when you are outplayed, but I CANNOT take what took place yesterday. The players were ready to play, but our OVERPRICED staff couldn't get out of their own damn way. Stoops looked lost as last years Easter Egg.

How many times have we watched Towels take a sack on the last play of the half or game? It seems like it happens in every close game. How about THROW THE DAMNED BALL AND LEAST GIVE IT A CHANCE. I don't even want to rewatch to see what happened, because it would just piss me off again.
