1.2 acres or somewhere around there. It’s covered in trees and the guy before me has fescue everywhere. It’s hilly and steep. There’s no way I can push mow this thing and a tractor style isn’t going to get the job done and Kubota is financing those things for 0% for 48 months and a 4 year warranty.
I’ve gotten 3 quotes to mow the yard and the lowest I’ve gotten is $200 a week.
I don’t know anything about mowers, I’ve always just used a self propelled push husq at my other house. Everything Lowes looks to be about $1000 cheaper but isn’t the quality, Kawasaki engine, financing or warranty of Kubota from what I’ve read.

Everyone in my neck of the woods are Scag ($$$), JD ($$), or Husqvarna ($$) . Scag's are the top of the crop, but I have always liked Husq and several friends love theirs. Plus, once I move again, I can get a good deal on one.
I used to rend a scag in edmond often...it was broken a lot. in fact, they said they couldn't make any money with them because of the maintenance and they got rid of them. Now, they were abused in the rental arena so maybe with normal wear and tear they're ok.
Probably the exception not the rule. Best zero turn out there. Just my opinion though.
Grasshoppers are legit. Everything is heavy duty on one. On a different note. I used to love getting out and moving / working on my yard. Freaking hate it now. With I had AstroTurf.
it may be...I thought it was a great mower. Big cut and fast. Hated to see them get rid of them.
How hilly is it. I mow my parents and they have a hill on their pond I mow. With the zero turn it scares the hell out of me. This year I even almost put the mower in the pond. I miss the John Deere tractor style when I mow that will. Look at the all wheel steer mowers. I like them a lot as they pretty much are a zero turn but have the stability of the tractor style.
Yeah zero turns can be dicey on a hill steep. Cub cadet has a zero turn that actually turns the front wheels via steering wheel, so when side crawling on a hill they stay locked forward so your nose doesnt want to guide down the hill. I tested one out but didn't care for it, but it may be worth looking at if you want zero turn + major hill issues.
I have a Scag liberty Z and love it. Its the bottom end of scags but seems well made and is extremely easy to navigate with. Small, pretty powerful and nimble as hell. I have a good size steep hill and it does pretty well on it.... just dont ever get to the bottom of the hill, pointed downhill, and not have a flat area to turn around, you will be stuck.

This is what I got into basically. Had my front wheels slid down and was facing the pond. couldn't back up or turn it.Thank the heavens that the brake held it in place while I got some guys to help me push it up the hill. Other wise a 5k mower woulda been 20ft deep in the drink.
Yup, thankfully I have no water, just trees at the bottom of mine, I got the front end up against a tree 2 or 3 times on my first mow and had to go get the ATV.
