The Women opened the season with an easy win over Louisville, 21-11, leading big in the first half. What is notable is that they opened the season inside, debuting in Ryan Fieldhouse. This should be a big recruiting draw, as the Cats don't have to battle cold and snow in their early season games anymore. They don't play their first outdoor home game until April!

NU starts the season #7 in the country.

'Cats were up 15 - 4 at the half, and then played everybody. Several newbies looking good.

I was there with my wife, and as a Friday date night it was a blast. Great seeing a game in the new Ryan Fieldhouse, and more importantly, the team looks improved over last year. A lot of underclass persons (?) getting a lot of PT. A sophomore from Loyola Academy, Brennan Dwyer, is our new draw control specialist. And a freshman... er, First year... from Michigan, Izzy Scane looks like a promising and fleet midfielder. I can't wait to see how we do against stronger competition later in the season.

By the way, if you live close by, this is a great excuse to check out Ryan Fieldhouse from the inside AND see some great lacrosse in the process.

Weather permitting, I hope to make the drive down from beyond the cheddar curtain Friday to check it out.

Just curious, how was the seating for the fans? Are there bleachers?

There's plenty of good seating along the south sideline of the field. Bleachers similar to the student section in Welsh-Ryan with individual seats. Parking is free in the adjacent garage, but you do have to step outside to get from the garage to the North entrance of the fieldhouse.

Crap. She has been snake-bitten by injuries.

The kicker is it was't contact. She tripped over the netting behind the endline.
