Every time I hear about one of these cases of some idiot leaving a small kid in a hot car it makes my blood boil. At the very least, anybody that would do this. Should be fixed so that they can NEVER have another child. Because they have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they have such a low level of intelligence that they can never trusted with the health and safety of a helpless child. Some of you might not like what i'm saying. WELL THAT JUST TOUGH.

Unbelievably sad you would come on here asking for advice about leaving a child in a car.

Yep, this place is notorious for supporting the leaving of kids in locked-up cars. I try to leave mine around the hottest times of the day. Between noon and 3 p.m for best results.

Hey man I gotta be honest with you I just don't really think you're going to get much resistance or backlash on this topic.
I dunno. I mean, there's a point at which the outside temperature is low enough that it perfectly offsets the increase in the interior temperature, thereby providing a pleasant environment in which the infant can bask while yoga mom shops for the latest Lululemon faux haute couture.

I like to put mine in black garbage bags and toss em in the kiddie pool. Sous vide is so hot right now.
Why does it have to be a black garbage bag? Are white garbage bags too good to suffocate your kids? I thought you were better than that.

About what I expected from a bunch of candyass liberals, one flippant response after another. As long as it's not your child you figure the hell with it.

I'm a Libertarian numnuts. If the kid wants out of the car, it can pull itself up by the bootstraps and work it's way out without my intervention.

I'll take the bait.

The first time I drove to church with all three of my kids including my then newborn son, the older two got out of the passenger side of the car like they do every week and I took two steps towards the door of the church from my car before I realized I forgot about my son.

The issue was it was a change of routine. It was March so even if I left him he would have been fine, but even that single moment of "forgetting" him makes me feel uneasy to this day. I'm kind of a forgetful person, which makes it worse.

All that said, it literally was just a couple seconds. I don't see how you forget for a few minutes much less an entire freaking day. There was a dude who did that at one of my clients down in Texas. He never took his kid to daycare, so the change in schedule (having to take his kid to daycare rather than work), caused it to slip his mind. Wife divorced him, life fell apart, etc. I can't say it's not deserved.

Yes, that seems to be a major factor in the cases that I've read about. Wasn't there an elementary school principal in OH that forgot about her kid... had switched the daycare drop-off day with the Dad, and was running around getting doughnuts for the teacher's lounge? She brought the doughnuts in, but left the child in its car seat.

Still hard to believe someone could forget about their baby, but in those cases it's an accident... a horrible, horrible accident.

I'd definitely vote "not guilty" -- Krispy Kreme choco-glazed >>>>> child.
