The defense cratered with the 2nd unit this year...absolutely awful. And our starting front wasn't great. The drop off after is really literally unbelievable for a power 4 team. This is one reason we had one of the worst rush defenses in the nation, our front couldn't get a rest and when they did things got bad quick. Guys got to put on weight, and DT is one position where guys kind of come out of nowhere as they mature but there are no signs up hope at the position.

There's some potential there. An improved scheme. Demanding that players play at a better pad level. Learn to pay off blocks rather than stay blocked. Have each guy show up 10 pounds heavier-- I'm tired of hearing about some DT losing weight and then getting knocked back into our linebackers play after play.
