I was CatsRock#1 back then and got perma-banned by Johnblue for saying Tubby should be cleaning the toilets instead of coaching after a home loss to Vandy [laughing]
Lol. I got perma banned myself for starting the thread . Did you migrate to Jdrums board (that shortly became BBN) after ya tossed like many of us?

Anyway I'm in 50s now an have settle down but mostly I'm just numb watching UK the last few years.

Nope, I took the rest of the year off and came back the following season as CatPhight. I remember the really old days with 1200 baud dial up internet on AmericaOnline Sportstalk. [laughing]

Was banned again by Johnblue in 2009 for saying Gillispie was a drunken fool and should be canned. Two weeks later the ban was reversed by another admin, when Clyde was actually canned and all the **** came out. I had a connection to a huge booster back then, who has since passed, so I knew earlier than most that Clyde was an absolute sack of ****. 20 year old coed aborted Clyde's bastard baby.

I wish they still had the running list that showed all the users currently online...after a big win or loss, the list would be huge and you could pick out the trolls who came to either cry or gloat.

Looking at this thread and seeing so many of us "old timers", remembering the door, and how we all were back in the day. Seeing BCG getting literally chased and all of us collectively amazed at the history we were witnessing with Tubby, good and bad, and the Cal era too. Makes me nostalgic.

I feel better about being so entirely negative about Cal and what I was seeing, mostly before most everyone else was there. In writing at length about these things we have all come to see and experience now as his schtick, it seems like everyone came around to how and why I was thinking what I saw, almost was it 7 or 8 years ago when I started railing about Cal ? I cant remember its been so long. I even left the board for a couple years basically. And please, friends, I'm not saying "i told you so" or gloating or anything or saying " I was first" now gimme a cookie .... lol

I just think I was a little ahead of the curve and eventually, in my experience, with people like Cal, you give them enough rope ..... the always hang themselves in the end.

The real shame of it all is that all we wanted was to win. Wanted the vibrant Swaggy Cal that was, but it all ended in 15. Even though none of us could have really foreseen that was the last real swaggy Cal we would ever see.

Still hoping, even praying could be wrong about the man.

But after seeing his coaching blunders, how he doubles down against common wisdom coaching guidelines. Pushes his philosophy and agenda that has NEVER ONE TIME put a title or Kentucky first.

and I'm sorry, I'm still venting. This is cathartic for me because Ive followed UK for almost 50 years. Loved UK like the rest of us thru thick and thinm. Bled blue. Ive paid my dues.

And the very first sign to me that this man might not be the "be all and end all" we thought he might could become, it waS when he said "Greatest day in the history of the program" was that 2010 draft.

I said right then and there I didnt need him to tell me as a UK fan what the greatest moment for me was, and that was a pile of garbage BS he could shove right back up his own ARSE. Pissed me off then and still does, seeing how hes thrown many UK fans under the bus for years.

Hes lost UK a lot of fans too. Much older and longer lived than me too. They had it a longer time ago than all of us. Theyve stayed gone. And they were absolutely true blue.

You start to lose those people, the program begins to die.

See Indiana.

Sad day to see the state of the program now. Still hoping. But knowing this guy is still gonna be here after this year and the next presumably, who knows where this ends.

but it will end.

then we can start to heal once again.

God knows, I'm already trying. Even with him still at the helm, if thats possible.

There's no reason to write that long a post on a message board.

Give me Tubby's offensive mind (keep the ball line defense somewhere else though) and Cal's recruiting man. I need it. I guess that's basically 90's Pitino though.
True but I will say the ball line defensive run the Daniel, Hayes, Fitch, Hawkins team went on that year is still to this day the best defense I’ve ever seen. Started that Vandy road game and lasted a month.

I still remember Scott Van Pelt doing sportscenter highlights after whoever we were playing scored and said sarcastically, “and that’s the first open look UKs given up in a month” or something to that effect.

Yeah, most UK fans don't think you're way, thank goodness. They cheer for their teams and enjoy the whole body of work over a lifetime. Enjoy your night, you and the troops. 🤣
Stop pretending, you turd. Everyone who's not related to Cal or being paid by UK can see right through you.

Explain Rupp still full for every game. You’re in the minority. Have fun insulting people. That’s what people do when they know their argument doesn’t exist. Case officially closed.

Nobody other than a tiny percentage want us to lose to get their way. Sure many want a new coach, but they don’t cheer for us to lose to get it. Only a fraction does that. The rest cheer for the team and hope for better days sooner than later. It’s called being an all-weather fan.

90s Pitino was incredible. For Cal to recruit like he does and not have the killer instinct....I just don't get it.
What is there NOT to get? Calipari exists to manage his NBA dog and pony show ... at UK's expense. None of what motivates him has anything to do with winning championships ... he has his NC ring so, onward fighting Don Quixote windmills and ending generational poverty. His mission is so much greater than NCAA championships ... he's above it all and BBN are basketball bennies. Seems pretty clear ... he has no one to threaten his position and purpose ... so on it goes. Cal expects BBN to bend the knee ... just like Mitch.

LoL. You sure so spend a lot of time insulting people for someone so sure of their argument.
And you're lying when you say Rupp is still full. Either that or a lot of people have been dressing as empty seats
