I actually oppose this, since the student body - going back to its foundings and through now - was respectful with the mascot and imagery. Its not as thrown in your face as the Illiniwek or Wahoo (I do have a soft-spot for Noc-A-Homa, even though he could be just as much a caricature). And given that the AIC (American Indian Center) is nearby in Lincoln Square, there could be collaboration with regard to the design of any imagery to reflect local tribes. If there is model to it being done without needing to change it, I would list Lane Tech and Hyde Park H.S. (they were Indians before Thunderbirds).
