Was at this one on Sat, penalty filled to say the least, too many to count.
Crete had a nice game plan. Ran mostly with QB sweeps out of shot gun, broke a long TD run in first half. They run a 2 QB system, the 2nd QB took the deep shots and they connected on a couple, 1 for a score. The Crete kicker can boom FGs, he hit 3 no-doubters during the game. During pre-game he was hitting from 50+. Crete's D played tough, Lemont really only mounted 1-2 first half significant drives, one of which they scored.
Lemont's QB went down late 1st half, they were down at the time by 2 scores so the back up was forced into a tough situation. The run game just wasn't effective enough to mount a comeback. Lemont's D played tough between the tackles, their inside LBs were solid. They got exposed over the top through the air and on the edge via the run.
The game was over at halftime, no points in chilly/boring 2nd half.
I was impressed with Crete & their staff's game plan, should be interesting next week against SHG.
