I suspect Joey Blaze will be a prime target for your 165 next season.
Ryder Downey has beaten him before. Actually beaten both 157 NCAA finalist last season. Had Lockett dead to rights last week. Let's see how 165 plays out before Bob overpays for someone. I guess I'd rather it be an iowa kid like Downey or Garvin if it's close.

So where is he actually at now... doing what?
Said he is on a boat loading ordinance onto planes, I believe. The interviewer thought that was pretty cool, but Nate didn’t seem to think it was very interesting. As someone else said, he seemed a bit lost and was thinking about what his next plan was. One idea was to try to get a commission, and maybe wrestle at the academy, but that transition to the academy is a high hurdle for the average Joe, I believe.

Where did the question of Ferrari leaving come from? Multiple posters have alluded to it but I’ve heard/seen nothing on it at all
It’s a very reasonable thought in today’s landscape. Plus, why would you want to hang around this f****** mess?

speculation, including he hadn’t attended matches since PSU (was he there today?). But, Maxpain said he is drilling in the room right now, fwiw.

And I have serious doubts Keuter does jack shiit in football.
Too slow at linebacker and not big enough for Dline.

$$$ changes people's desire and motivation.
BK doesn't give me the impression that he GAF.
If he truly did get the rumored $500k, that might be the biggest waste of $$$ in the brief history of NIL.
Cade McNamara would like a word.

I wouldn't know but I do know if you drop out of BUDS you gotta get redesignated and finish your enlistment. So he's doing some Naval job I imagine.
I was under the impression you had to be invited to buds not sign up for it its based on performance as a regular member of the military

Hell we couldn't complete boot camp on paris island without knowing how to swim. I'm pretty sure it's the same for the navy as far as swimming goes

I imagine they do a bit of inviting already enlisted members and commissioned officers but I also know that you can go straight into the Navy and after boot camp head to BUDS.

Yep you can enlist with a special warfare contract, obviously most won’t make it and end up doing something else out in the fleet

Clearly there will be many portal additions to have to plug into the starting lineup.

Question is: How good/impactful will they be?

Another question: are we convinced Ferrari returns?

So I’d agree with others that day next season has the makings to be “potentially” the poorest season Iowa wrestling has seen ever. 100% the key is Brands’ ability to sign at least 3 portal guys who will be outstanding. I’m not confident about that.
Why wouldn’t Ferrari return? I keep hearing they possibly on this forum but really doubt the truth behind the claims.

Yep, think he said something about wrestling at the Naval Academy without seeming to understand how difficult getting in would be. Seemed a little lost to me. Not sure what his college options are with his Navy commitment but hope it all works out for him.
Seems like a kid who isn’t realistic about things. He did drop out of seals training first week, and said he not much of a swimmer. Then was talking about going to the Naval Academy, but said he’s never been much of a school guy. WTF? The one thing he was very talented in, he threw away his senior year in high school. Nobody’s been giving this kid good realistic guidance. If he tries to wrestle again as a middle weight at 5 ft nothing, he’ll make Gabe look lanky. Maybe he should look into NDST and the program they have where you graduate with a degree in a trade, which is more practical for guys that aren’t that academic, but gives them a useful education in something you can earn a good living in, and still be a D1 wrestler.

I’d set the over/under at 3 All Americans for Iowa. The only sure fire All American is Mikey C. Angelo is an All American if he’s healthy, but don’t know if he is. Hard to imagine that a two time finalist is a question mark to All American but it’s where we are. PK wrestles a lot of close matches. Everyone else is below 50/50 to make the podium.
I think Ayala puts it together at Nationals and gets a top 5 finish.
Caliendo is 2nd or 3rd
Kennedy reaches the podium imo
Angelo is a top 5 finish
Then between BK and Petersen I think one reaches the podium.

I’m pretty sure he said in an I review that he wasn’t a strong swimmer?o
