I am a bit of an completionist too myself and i'd love to get that 30 on its own w/o using time, but my Counselors license trumps my teaching license.....we will see how this year goes, as I enjoy the craziness of middle school, but also want to do something new so a "career license" for me wouldn't matter much....thinking about some part time academic advising at the community college or university levelNice! We're at similar points in our education careers. I will hit 30 years February 15th. I also have a couple years' worth of sick leave. I always thought I'd use it to retire early, but I learned that in order to get your "career license" meaning you stay certified without CEUs, you have to work the full 30. Now it's kind of a point of pride to go the full 30. I still have a kid in high school to get through college, so I'll probably go another 6 or so.
I don't remember if we've talked about this before, from the old board.
Yup!!! They’re gonna lose a lot of businessMy month payment to them is up today. Ima go to sling or Hulu live I guess
dropping ESPN is crazinessI use YouTube tv as my streaming and they just dropped ESPN. Anyone else have any solution? I can't be missing Duke games and wait till they have it resolved
Insane!!dropping ESPN is craziness
What state are you in? I was able too to get my career license after 29 years of service. Granted, that was 8 years ago.I am a bit of an completionist too myself and i'd love to get that 30 on its own w/o using time, but my Counselors license trumps my teaching license.....we will see how this year goes, as I enjoy the craziness of middle school, but also want to do something new so a "career license" for me wouldn't matter much....thinking about some part time academic advising at the community college or university level

Don't they do this every few years as a bargaining chip, though? Like budget negotiating?dropping ESPN is craziness

Same here. I don't have a solution. Not good!!! Just in time for the season opener.I use YouTube tv as my streaming and they just dropped ESPN. Anyone else have any solution? I can't be missing Duke games and wait till they have it resolved
I might have to pick up Fubo or Sling TV and do the free month trial and then drop.Same here. I don't have a solution. Not good!!! Just in time for the season opener.![]()
Think I'm going the Hulu route as well since they have TNTCancelled YouTube and got Hulu live.owned by the mouse so ain’t no chance I’ll lose the games haha. Something cool if you bundle it you can basically watch every game out there
on it...the wording isn't straight forward....just says 30 years, omitting straight or combined...ill find out either way if I start the process in JanuaryI’m in NC too, you may want to recheck. Things change though.
You gave in!?! I thought you could hold out. I won’t do it. Screw the mouse and their greed! I already did Disney+hulu+espnplus so I’m actually saving $10 a month now by adding live and axing YouTube. I will say YouTube TV is a lot more user friendlyYou gave in!?! I thought you could hold out. I won’t do it. Screw the mouse and their greed! Sling DayPass for the time being
I understand. I’m not giving into the mouse. YT is so user friendly and 4 screens at once is another attraction. Look up Pat McAfee podcast from the other day. I’m canceling my free trial for Fubo tonight. I’m not giving in either. Surely there will get this resolved this week.I understand. I’m not giving into the mouse. Yes, I started in 2001 and turned 42 this September; next July will be 25 years. I can retire at 55 with my pension, but I plan (Lord willing) to work until I am 62 1/2, and my better half and I can retire at the same time (plus I'll draw more). She'll have her 30 years in then at SECU, and we hope to retire and travel the country in our RV.I’ll be honest - I thought you were too young to have been at one company for 25 years. That’s impressive

I think it would be funny if Google removed Disney, Hulu, ESPN, and Fubo from the Google search engines then again when those contract are up Google can stick it to them. Those ad and search spaces are not cheap at all.I’m canceling my free trial for Fubo tonight. I’m not giving in either. Surely there will get this resolved this week.
toughTrimble has a broken arm and needs surgery. Big loss for the cheats.
Are our chances good?
One of the big time recruiting experts on here (Jaime Shaw maybe) said during summer Kager is prob not a traditional duke level recruit. Hes 3/4 star now. My guess is he will have a spot at Duke if he wants it but that might a lot of pressure for him and those other schools might be a better spot for him. Personally I would love for him to come and be a 4 yr guy. That’s a good family to have aroundI'm seeing Twitter posts of Kon's brother, Kager visiting various schools. Anyone have insight on him?
