First and foremost, I love this UK football board and just wanted to wish Everyone and their Families a MERRY CHRISTMAS..

I have worked 22 years for the Federal Government plus 6 years of active duty military service, which of course equals 28 years of service serving ole Uncle Sam...

I always schedule Annual Leave with back to back weeks of Christmas and New Years to enjoy the ending of the college football season with all the bowl games and traveling to the bowl game if we decided to go and enjoying a LITTLE KENTUCKY bourbon with each one...

Even tho we decided not to go this year, Still was planning with friends and family having a good time celebrating an outstanding season with the conclusion of spanking that PSU @$$...

Now, my Annual Leave has been cancelled or suspended due to the government shutdown and the possibility of having to work on New Years Day and miss watching the bowl game at all

That would suck, or maybe I’ve just had too much KENTUCKY BOURBON today..... Either way ,wanted and needed to vent.... MERRY CHRISTMAS & GO BIG BLUE!!!!!

First of all, thank you for your service. Regarding you're time off, you should be OK IMO...unless your particular position is deemed critical and you have to report to duty during the shutdown. If not, you should be fine as far as being off on New Years Day. I would be surprised if Congress does anything between Christmas and NYD but who knows. The good thing is you'll still get paid.

It really disgusts me how Americans now prioritize profiteers over Service to Country. Our Military members, first responders, teachers, Federal and State employees do more for this country than any corporate hack, investment banker, PAC lobbyist or politicians ever will.

Federal employees don’t get bailouts, bonuses, tax loopholes or any other garbage, but they do their job with incredible professionalism.

I hope our politicians quit playing games by risking your livelihood. And yes, I do vote.

Thank you for everything that you do for our great nation. I hope you see resolution quickly and have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

OK. Enough. Those in the public sector have no jobs without the taxes and fees on those in the private sector that create the country's wealth. The sins of public sector workers are too innumerable to start down. They aren't saints.

There's plenty of faults to go around in all areas. I have great respect for the military & first responders. To put the rest of public workers above private sector workers in respect is blindness or total bias. Fulfillment workers at Amazon & checkout workers at Kroger deserve every bit the respect of the public workers. They make the country function.

My uncle was at Lexington Federal Correctional back during the 80s as an inmate. He bragged back then about some wierdo inmate girlfriend who worked with him. Crazy stuff.

I started my career there back in the 80’s. At one time FCI Lex was a co-Ed facility. Used to find homemade mattress’s all the time.

My uncle was an inmate at FCI Lex from around 1986-88. D. Selby. He passed away from natural causes last year while an inmate at Union C.I. in Florida.

I've been a venting since those bean burritos from a Mexican restaurant hit me before my jaunt around the Blvd Of Lights last night.

Hmmmm, go tell that to people that make sure your plane lands OK. Tell that to the people that provide information to the MILITARY so they can do their job. Tell that to the people that are TRYING to keep our borders safe. TELL that to the people that make sure that our Maritime is safe...I can go on but why bother because you can only see so far in front of your nose.
