I didn’t bring up who gets to play a bye week against a CPL.

Do you seriously think a CPL team in 4A deserves a bye week?
I think strength of schedule needs to be a factor to prevent teams with good records against crappy schedules from getting high seeds. However, I'm sure a 3-6 team that draws a 7-2 CPL team due to the current seeding rules isn't complaining.

As I predicted, Glenbard West presents a problem. They have their best DB and ILB back just in time for Hersey. York with the brutal draw in R3 (Loyola)

CPL needs to just stay in Chicago and have a city playoff for a city championship.

Only thing they have accomplished in the playoffs is jacking the brackets.
😭😭😭 hey we know you're member schools of the IHSA, but we don't want you to play in our tournament, but only for football to appease some random people, you're all good in every other sport.

CPL has been around since the beginning and they're not going anywhere, get over it.

CPL limits their own teams to play in the playoffs 🫠🫠🫠

Smart move to throw the game against MC.
It had to be intentional. Even the announcers said that four Loyola players had an angle on Duran Sims in the first quarter, but somehow Sims slipped by them? Not likely. The Loyola DBs must have been giving a wide berth to MC's receivers, and no one believes that shifty LA running back Melo Maldonado couldn't score on first and goal. But the clincher is MOB's prediction that Loyola will beat Mount Carmel for the 8A title. Word on the street is that MOB made that prediction after consulting with Holecek, who told him that losing to MC was part of his overall strategy. You can't outsmart the Wizard of Wilmette.

17, 2-7 teams will make it in. What are we doing? How is this a good thing?
Some 2-7 teams are better than 6-3,7-2 & 8-1 teams. Again this was the complaint for years before the expansion so I said well then let all eligible CPS teams in the playoffs let all conferences & teams be eligible. You’d get teams in with good records who would get curb stomped. Congrats to Kennedy for example on a great 8-1 season but most non CPS teams 2-7 or maybe 1-8 would running clock them & not just them. 3-6 Joliet Central may just beat Lane Tech who is 6-3. So many of these teams with poor records play a tough schedule to get them ready for the playoffs. If we go by records they’ll stop doing that & play weak CPS teams & weak schools from NW Indiana

No team that has a losing record should be in the football playoffs. I remember once upon a time when you had to earn your way in.

winning 2 and 3 games isn’t earning your way in.
DePaul went 3-6 but easily beat Richards & another playoff team in Lane Tech so do those schools belong?

I asked Mickey Pruitt years ago why they didn’t all allow conferences to make the playoffs. He said because those schools would get killed in the first round of the playoffs. He said well that’s no different than 80% of the CPS teams now. He didn’t laugh

There are a few 1-8 teams that played really hard schedules that I think could do well in the playoffs

we should extend the process another week and allow them into playoffs.

they also should have the incredible opportunity to print a school tshirt that says playoffs on them

it’s not fair

I don’t care about those t shirts lol but sometimes 1-8 teams are much better than their records. Argo went 1-8 in 1987. They would have made a good playoff team. They beat Niles West to open the year. NW wasn’t good. Then they lost by a TD to a good playoff Bolingbrook team they should have beat. Lost by 2 tds to Oak Lawn who wasn’t that good. Should have won that. Lost in a competitive game vs a good playoff Richards team. Lost by 2tds vs playoff Sandburg a game they should have won. Lost by 5 to a playoff Reavis team a game they should have won. Lost by 2tds to a decent Riverside Brookfield team they should have won. Lost by 2 TDS to playoff Stagg a game they should have won. Lost by a TD to poor Shepard a game they should have won. Many agreed they should have been 8-1. Just an example. Be like Indiana. Everybody including all CPS conferences gets in

If they are “better” then win the games in your schedule. Congrats your team played a tough schedule. But if you don’t win those games you’re not good enough to be in the playoffs.
