Let this set in. We just lost to a team that two weeks ago lost to INCARNATE WORD by 5 touchdowns. *

I had high hopes after Nebraska and was ready to feast on crow, but I fear by prediction will be correct. Closer to 0-12 than 6-6..

This is a meaningless loss but it shows how bad we really are.

I saw "UIW" 64-29 and had to look up UIW.

Illinois Wesleyan?

Indiana-Wayne?

Nope. Incarnate Word. 😬

Cardinals (I looked it up).

But come to think of it that makes perfect sense for a Catholic school!

A transitive property loss to Incarnate Word by 42 points means you have been fornicated

Purdue fan here. Incarnate Word is actually a good FCS program. They were underrated to begin the year, but are in the top 10 right now.

This SIU team has some players.

Still a bad loss, but perhaps not as bad as it looks on paper.

Those Catholics play some tough football. This is just another tough loss, guys. Flush it. On to our MAC opponent.

Scott Frost and his onside kick probably saved us from a 0-3 start and a potential 0-12 disastrous year. Please bump this post when we upset Wisc and Iowa, and play in a bowl game.

Just part of the Fitz-plan. Play possum in non-conference, get the other B1G fanbases overconfident, then spoil a few Homecomings in October. Hopefully, not our own. 🤣

Well maybe the B1G should consider IW for the next phase of expansion.

Wait, but I was told after the Duke game that if I was a Real Fan and not cynical or negative, it would make a difference. Turns out the team and its gameplans were as bad as many of us thought they were...

When our rationalization is “the FCS team that blew out the FCS team we just lost to is a really good team” you know we’re in trouble.

Hey, the Word put up 55 on Nevada last week and Nevada only gave up 27 to Iowa over the course of 7 hours tonight.

Giving up 27 to a team that has basically averages 5 points of offense this year otherwise (after taking away the 2 safeties that their defense scored in their first game) is 5X+ more than what an offense is otherwise used to scoring, or like giving up 100+ points to a normal offense that scores 25ppg.

I am already worried about what Ohio State will bring.
Why?

Worst case: they blow us out like they regularly have for some time. Just like they regularly blow out other B1G teams.

Best case: we beat them like we did in 2004 when no one expected it. We came close in 2001, 2002, 2013, and 2016 as well - the only years anyone gave us a chance was 2001 and 2013, and I think we were only favored in 2001 (different era altogether).

The OSU game is the least of our worries right now. They’re not even our most important Ohio opponent for a few weeks.
