Baseball used to be far and away my favorite sport. I would watch spring training games on WGN. Then they canceled the World Series and tried to make up for it by turning every game into a home run derby. I just looked up when the Devil Rays started and realized I haven't given a crap about baseball since before the Devil Rays started playing.
You just described my feelings. 100%. When MLB went on strike I turned it off for good.

I was raised in Clearwater and when I was a boy we had the Yankees and St Louis in St Pete. Phillies in Clearwater, Cincy and White Sox in Tampa, Detroit in Lakeland, Boston in Sarasota, Dodgers in Vero Beach. The greats in those days were DiMaggio, Mantle, Berea. Musial, Al Kaline, Ted Williams, Nellie Fox, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider and Roy Campanella. After school we always headed to the ball park to watch Spring Training.

Players were fan friendly and autographs were FREE. But that was yesterday and yesterday is gone.
