Vs UNCheat , what are our top 5 most memorable plays and who was the Duke player that laid it on them? Not just recently, lifetime.

-Heyman taking it to Larry Brown, Duke Indoor
-Fred Lind 3 ot home finale '68, Duke Indoor
-Brickey back in Lebo's face at buzzer, 70-69
(in Chapel Hill, snapping losing streak there)
-Rivers at Chapel Hill over Zeller
-This year's win at UNC, seemingly against all odds! (The whole group minus Matt and Amile)

Plenty more!

2005 - at Cameron, the last defensive stand where JJ knew the play that was being run and UNC didn't get a shot off. Still love Brad Nessler's call, "5...4.. They're not going to get a shot away! Duke is going to win it!"

Not a play but 1998 senior night Duke wins 77-75 and wojo runs to K for the hug and Ks 500 win

The entire team effort this year at cheaters' hill. Talk about having no business winning a game. That's what I love about Duke basketball, they play with so much heart, that you can never count them out!
Brice Johnson agreed we had "no business" winning it- he staged a postgame "sit-in" on the Dean Dome floor!!

We put the beatdown on UNC between 1999-2002. They stole one in 2001 at Cameron, but we beat them 10 out of 11 times during that 4-year stretch. 4 straight at the Dean Dome.

1999 81-61
2000 90-86
2001 95-81
2002 87-58

A couple of really nice ones too in the ACC Title Games:

1999 96-73
2001 79-53

Not a play but an event. When Chris Collins got up in matt doherty's face when doherty thought he had a right to be on Duke's bench. OFC

Robby West has to be on the short list. 17-foot jumper with three seconds left to lead an unranked Duke team to a 76-74 win over third-ranked UNC on the day when Duke Indoor Stadium was renamed Cameron Indoor Stadium in 1972.

Robby West. We're talking about a guy who scored 142 points in his entire Duke career.

Also unmentioned so far was Gene Banks' senior day performance in 1981 against a loaded Carolina team that would end up losing in the title game. Banks tied the game at the buzzer and then won it in OT with a putback.

Yep and what a ballfake pass Dennard delivered to Chip Engelland in corner prior to hitting Tink at the top of the key...Don't forget the final game Vic Bubas coached in Duke Indoor against UNC, '69....Another great memory...

I often go back and watch the 2015 game @ UNC, their senior night. Game was back and forth for most of the first half, and then we just DOMINATED the second half. Justise/Tyus absolutely dominated both ends of the court. All 8 guys made plays in the 2nd half, whether it was a 3 by Matt or a steal leading to a dunk by Justise. DeanDome was SILENT the last 5 minutes of the game as it was over.

Almost as silent as pregame ceremony presenting our coach an award!! Haha, Roy's psyche-out job failed...

The 1969 game was my freshman year. It snowed six or eight inches that day and Janis Joplin finished the day off with a concert that night.

Good times.

One of the many neat things about that game was the performance of Steve Vandenberg. He was a senior; final home game and all that.

Vandenberg had averaged 12 and 8 the previous season. With Mike Lewis having graduated, many thought he would develop into an All-ACC caliber player, maybe All-America.

Instead, he had a miserable season, losing his starting spot to Fred Lind and Rick Katherman.

He was averaging about 7 ppg going into that game. Bubas played a hunch and started him instead of Katherman.

Vandenberg responded with what might be the best Senior Day game in Duke history, 33 points (10-14 from the field, 13-13 from the line), with 12 rebounds, as Duke pulled off the upset.

He continued to play well in the ACC Tournament, 53 points in three games, as Duke almost pulled off what would have been a most satisfying championship.
