Not going where he thought and was hoping should be plenty of motivation to show his critics they all were wrong. Just looking at the 1st round picks shocked the TE from Notre Dame Mayer didn’t go yet either. Personally think he will be in Canton one day.

I don't think it is as much that as it is that teams don't need QBs.
Bull….

1. Scangerello is an all time Uk bad coach Right up there with mike majors D, Elliot uzelac three rb lined up behind Qb formation and well joker Phillips was by far the worst head coach ever at Ky

2. You really believe tampa bay don’t need a Qb? Washington? Tennessee? Heck even to a lesser degree falcons , raiders will be regretting their current QBs and be after them next year Vikings after Kirk cousins craps the bed with all all pro team around him could need a young Qb to hand it over in two years

No .. no it’s not .. and you trying to say Will approached last year the same way he approached the previous ? He stayed in the pocket forever this past year , that recklessness to make a play was gone
That prior recklessness was also a concern . One article had gms worried cause he plays QB like a linebacker. His toe injury and turnovers in his two years caused his slide

I said all year while I liked Levis was our QB, I didn’t get the NFL hype. I think he can be a solid backup but if he got picked in the top 10, he would cost a GM and coach their job. Now, I think that honor will fall to Richardson.

It still depends where Levis falls to, but I think this will be better for him in the end.

Wonder how much our incompetent offensive coordinator & that pathetic excuse for an offensive line that Levis had to play behind last season had to do with his slide

I feel so bad for Will and his family tonight. WHY in the world did ESPN bring him there when Chris Mortenson KNEW that Will's toe was STILL a problem and teams were leery of taking him as a high pick?????

ESPN is a bunch of DIRTBAGS and allowing Todd McShay to sit there and FREAKIN LAUGH because Will hadn't been picked just to throw shade at Mel Kiper was just CLASSLESS!!!

I CAN'T STAND ESPN!!!!
There are 4 guys that were invited to the green room that didn’t get drafted last night. There are usually 4 or 5 guys. Guys slide….It’s always been a part of the draft.

I feel bad for him. The Ole Miss game really killed our season and his draft stock. Had we went after his first year..I think he could have been Top 10. I hope nothing but the best for him.

Colts hoping AR is the next Jackson or Hurts. They even brought in the Offensive Coordinator to install the same system. Until he learns to be a true QB he will be a glorified RB. It’s a skill set he had above Levis.

As far as Levis I believe he came off as too cocky in the interviews. This may bring him down a notch. IMO he will get drafted early today and will get to show what he can do.

Okay...no I don't believe reddit posts. CBS had him at 25th at best. He can't layer passes or roll out to his left.

But since it's Stoops fault...can you give me an awesome analysis of how sunbelt billy propelled Anthony Richardson so high up? He tooootttally lived up to the hype playing for him.
I have looked at most mock drafts. CBS did not have him ranked as low as 25th. They ranked him anywhere from 1 to no lower than 19th. Show us that 25th ranking.

Didn't play in the bowl game. Haven't shown much at Penn State or Kentucky. Upside chance isn't first round in NFL drafts.
Yet the guy that went number one is 5’10” 185 pounds. Talk about looking only at the upside.

I honestly feel sorry for Levis. Was he top 5 good? No. The hype machine did it's job I suppose. This had to crush him. That is what is sad. Was he Top 32 good? Apparently not. I hope he can stay centered, take what he can get and have a good pro career.

The screw up , the monumental screw up , of stoops neutering Livas and telling him not to be a playmaker , but to be a classic pocket passer not only cost WL millions , it cost UK several wins and a great season last year .
THIS!!!!! 💯💯💯💯 💯💯💯

I still believe our coordinator hurt him, now they are saying his Toe isn’t 100% still. Plus rumblings about horrible interviews.
I can't believe if the toe were an issue it A) hasnt healed in 6 months b) some GM didnt leak it out there to keep other teams off of him . I think its a combo of a terrible year last year , and his cockiness in interviews . Nothing to do with a OC or a toe .

I never understood the Levis hype. I thought he was 3rd round at best
I'll go with today, for the right franchise. I still think he has more real upside and a higher floor than Stroud or Richardson. They are bigger reaches. I hope he finds a special, Aaron Rogers-like situation.

Exactly! Look at Tua Tagovailoa, he's listed at 6' 215 lbs. He's had too many concussions already. Young is even smaller. I like Young and wish him success. But I worry about him getting killed.

If I were Levis I’d fire my agent immediately. The fact they didn’t see this coming is amazing!
You’re an idiot. Clearly someone made a knee jerk reaction and chose AR for whatever reason last minute over Levis

Lifelong Kentucky Football fan here but Will Levis’ slide in this draft has got to be the most “UK football” thing ever. Just absolutely classic and par for the course that is the misery of being a fan.

He didn't slide. He was always gonna go where he goes. All the rest is hype to get people to watch the draft. I haven't wavered from my belief that he was the 13th-15th ranked player in the draft, but he didn't fit with anyone's needs in that range or lower.

Not going in the 1st round doesn't surprise me nor concern me. He might land with a better fit long term this way.

I dont understand why it's "classic uk football" bc a guy doesn't get drafted high.

Classic UK football was when Tim couch played and he went...1

Because negs breed more negs. After 30 years here and improving as we have, I thought that part of KY would've changed. It just shows you that negativity can be passed down generation to generation.

This is good for Will Levis as he always played best with a chip on his shoulder. It's just motivation

Will Levis didn't "approach" this last year any differently. The OC called the plays and restricted his movement. To say Levis "approached it" differently is either naive or just stupid. He did what he was asked to do

I guess he didnt have the sack to do what was best for him and the team then ? Lets just go 6-6 but " I just did what the coaches ask " Nice work .

Will Levis gave us two seasons of solid football and hope for the future of our offense. A lot of things factored into the disappointment that was last season, but to me Levis wasn't one of them. Our OLine couldn't protect him and the playcalling was atrocious at times. Levis' injury didn't help matters either. I'm not buying the "cockiness" line they fed us last night. a Good QB should play with a little bit of an edge. You going to tell me CJ Stroud or Anthony Richardson isn't cocky? Levis is a true team player and a fighter. I remember the game he left with a dislocated shoulder Injury only to come back out a couple of series later. Then he proclaimed in his post game interview "Meh, it wasn't my throwing shoulder". That kind of toughness shouldn't be overlooked.

I really have no idea where he'll end up, I don't even profess to know who has the most need. Maybe the Rams with the Coen connection? let him backup Stafford for a couple of years? Stafford is in the twighlight of his career. Do a couple of teams who passed on him in the first round snag him because he's still available? the Titans? the Packers? Saints maybe?

The point is, we hear all the hype, the predictions, etc. We see him making his media rounds. Stoops, Coen, etc out promoting Levis and peacocking out there thinking he’s going top 5, and he’s about to walk out of the green room not drafted tonight. The camera is showing him over and over again with a look of disappointment. His mother with tears in her eyes, God Bless her. Again, this is classic UK football.

Most ignorant take on this ever. Classic LOD response.

Still want anyone to tell me how ARs accuracy issues aren’t a concern but Levis‘ are.

Richardson isn't that inaccurate. If you watch all of his tape, he's pretty accurate in most levels of the passing tree. He struggles a little with some defensive reads, just like Levis did. Will Levis was consistently behind receivers all last year AND at Pro Day. I don't know how much of that was scheme and injuries last year, but it was still there.

Scangarello not letting him roll out and take off really messed with Levis' game. You might as well have tied a weight to every limb. Just stupid from an OC to do that. Never played him to his strengths.

He could have done that in the first round too. I think Indy, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, New England, NYG, NYJ, San Diego all had reasonable need or insurance to pick a QB. Possibly even the Saints if Carr isn’t the answer.

I wouldn't want to play for most of those teams right now. I'm shocked that the announcers were saying he's still not 100% 5m after the season ended. Dick move to say it on air AND surprising that it's not healed yet.

I swear, the wonderlick had dumb questions but apparently the S2 try’s to test actual cognition and fast recognition skills. It may have nothing to do with Football on paper but it does show how fast he processes information and how he uses that information, which QB’s have to do a ton. That’s why Manning was one of the 5 best QB’s ever, his mind.
i heard Kurt Warner on Dan Patrick show a few years ago and KW said he can teach anyone to properly throw a football and to be a qb, but what what he said and something no one can teach, and which is basically genetic, is the ability to comprehend and process everything that is going on is the quickest manor. as an example, most qb's are expected to get rid of the ball in 2 seconds or less so even if you are 95% of HOF TB12, that 5% difference means TB gets rid of the ball and another qb gets sacked. and imagine if you are only 90% of TB. if as a qb, it takes you .05 seconds longer to process something you are a backup qb. and that functionality within the brain cannot be taught. it's inherent. i am a high energy person sometimes and my brain works in microseconds and my reaction times are super fast. i can't teach you that, it's natural. so the S2, which i think 15 teams currently use, tries to extrapolate those processing times. Vince Young is a good example on the other side, he would just run because he couldn't process things quick enough.
