Levis is a millionaire because he plays football. He's being paid. Play.

And spare me the ******** that he's not being paid to play. It's a technicality at best. Closer to flat out lying. He only has that money because he plays football.

And yes, I realize I should probably just watching college sports now.
Maybe true, but whatever he's paid in college is viewed thru his lens (probably) as only a stepping stone to the NFL.

Only way he doesn't consider his best interest is if it's in the "small-print" to play...

If we’re playing a Big Ten team he must play. Any other conference, adios back to whatever New England state he’s from.

If Levis and a few others on the team skip the bowl game I would like them to announce that before fans go out and buy tickets

If Levis skips it, I will skip it. No hard feelings I just don't want to pay to see a game where the better players are wearing street clothes and carrying the clip board

If he were your son and his liveliehood was on the line would you say that, or is that solely as a fan?

I've said since the USCjr game that he should sit out the rest of the year. I like the kid, but he has his future earnings to consider and owes UK fans nothing.
My son would damn well play the game. Period.
He owes his team and teammates, not the fans. You really suck.

I'm glad that you are not his advisor. If he had quit that early, the NFL would not be pleased. Sitting out a meaningless bowl after paying his dues all year is one thing. Quitting on your team in mid-season is another and that would NOT help his draft status, especially when one of his best assets as a prospect is his warrior mentality.

I understand wanting your starting QB to play, but if he doesn't want to play do you really want him out there? Even if you are able to threaten him into playing, he takes a dive first play and is "injured". Either way it's a lose-lose for the school

Every Bowl season this topic is brought up..it's an entertaining thread everytime. Just stare at my phone in disbelief, as grown men get upset about a young man playing in or sitting out a game.
We should either develop players or be deep enough to overcome this stuff....

If you care that little, then stare at your phone and watch whatever it is besides football that you may like, and don't watch football in the first place.

So, you wanna of the guys that get mad. All good, on my end. Ima watch the game regardless. As a 40+ year fan of Kentucky football, the possibility of another dud of a game won't faze me. Be interesting to see what happens and who steps up if he sits out.

Actually, I'm not mad, and, as a matter of fact, I posted that I would understand his decision. I'm just baffled that you would be so salty about opinions on a board designed exactly for the purpose of expressing opinions. If you disagree, it's fair game to explain why you disagree, but instead, you want to close the discussion altogether. Just who do you think you are?

1. Disbelief/can't believe
in people getting mad about the possibility of a player sitting out, does not equate to being salty.
2. What did I post that you mangled into me inferring that discussion should be closed?
3. I think I'm a pretty good husband, father, son, pap, and poster.
4. I disagree with those being upset about Levis sitting...due to the fact, the guy has a 16-7 record and gives his all everytime he steps on the field...and he plays hurt.

That's actually a very good point. For years, posters of a certain political perspective were quite passionate about how players should have every right to boycott bowl games because they're not getting paid. Well, now they ARE getting paid. And, yet, politically oriented posters like Yakety, Dville, and Tubby are still in favor of playing boycotting bowls, as are the sportswriters, who also are quite political. Interesting. If they were on a specific contract, would it be OK to opt out of meaningless games? Would it be OK for NFL players to opt out of games after the team is eliminated from the playoff? I would ask our political oriented posters who parrot the sportswriters to consider these questions.

With that said, I can also see an argument that guys like Levis and C-Rod at this point have already earned their money, so I do see both sides of the issue. Ultimately, if guys like Stoops and the UK football players are in support, I can't feel like I should be too bitter as a fan.

UK fans were spoiled when Josh Allen decided to play as a projected Top 10 pick, but not every player is going to do this. Even fewer for a 6 or 7 win bowl game. If Levis skipped I'd understand.

...on the bright side, it would let the backups get all the snaps in bowl prep practice and the bowl game itself. Which would only help for next season when Levis would be long gone.
Yeah. I hope people understand the 2 seasons aren’t the same.

Citrus bowl against Penn State / Iowa….I’m not the same as a 6-7 win season bowl

I know exactly what he'd do. You whacko liberals teach your kids horrible values. Team players have responsibilities to their teammates. I know that's hard for you to understand but thats what men do.
😂 Congratulations on Rafter's dumbest quote of the day. And **** off, you don't know what values my kids are taught, you freak. You're assuming again. And trying (poorly) to make a political point. Grow up and do better.

He’s from Connecticut, which is also where Goose is from. So there’s that.

Good, I actually hope he does sit out. Will be nice to get some game action for the backups since that hardly ever happens with Stoops.
Backup quarterbacks do not play much for any coach. It is not about Stoops. Why make it about him? This has been a disappointing season, but the backup quarterback is not the reason.
