There have been TWO BBQ places in that location and BOTH ended up on TV and closed

The first was JJ McBrewster’s and it was complete trash. I remember when it came out that they were going to be on TV, and everyone’s collective reaction was “Why?!!!”.

The second was Lyles and it was actually good, but then they went on “The Profit” with Marcus Lemonis and way overextended themselves by opening Nash’s on Southland Drive in the old Trumps/Show Me’s/Willy’s Locally Known/Big Kahuna place. Then closed very shortly after.

At least now we get the divine blessing that is Crank & Boom in that spot.
Crank and Boom is ok but it isn't Graeters by any stretch.

Remember seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives but never been there.

Some ladies made me eat Crank and Boom ice cream one time. As a frozen cream connoisseur I was flat out disgusted. It's not ice cream, imo. It's severely lacking in cream content, and the texture is awful. Lacks flavor. Poor ice cream imitation, and I'm certain if you look at the nutritional facts/ingredients, you will quickly see why it sucks.

Heck, look at their stupid website ( I foolishly went to hoping to find the nutrition guide...)...

Ice cream not even mentioned in their mission statement. I'm very curious how their alleged ice cream is produced.

...similar situation to North Lime Donuts. Kind of the exact same deal as Crank and Boom. Severely hyped and marketed, and incredibly mediocre. Not only is every donut shop in the city better than North Lime, you can head to your local Kroger and get a plethora of better donuts.

Donuts and ice cream are serious business.

Get the Cookies & Cream, or the Martine’s Pistachio Cake in a fresh waffle cone and get back to me.

I completely agree that Graeter’s is better, but that involves driving to Chevy Chase or Hamburg, pass.

North Lime is very very average. No idea how they’ve become popular.
