I fully understand the sentiment about adopting American kids first , but in all fairness its easier to adopt from other countries. We need to cut lots of red tape on adoption, & still be vigilant on who can adopt.I will say that I was afraid that ACB would try to recuse herself and not vote on certain issues due to her religion and her worrying that it would affect things. As long as she doesn’t recuse herself, she seems to be a good originalist and textualist.
However, I will always say that I am not a fan of adopting from other countries when you have kids here in the USA that need adopted and good homes.
Not sure if still the case but knew a couple a few years ago trying to adopt an American kid, and the list was like a 4 years wait after you got through the process.I fully understand the sentiment about adopting American kids first , but in all fairness its easier to adopt from other countries. Also several dems discussing questioning how she can claim to care about her 7 kids while being a successful professional. I wish I was kidding.Add NPR, several others on Twitter.

Totally agree 100%I understand it may be easier, but for someone who has the means like ACB and others, a lot of those hoops can be jumped through. But about your statement, I firmly believe that the adoption process in the USA needs to be reworked in drastic ways. Some of it comes down to how much money the parents are willing to pay through the process, and the overall vetting process shouldn’t take that long. Adoption reform is a big issue that never gets mentioned by any local or federal government candidate and it’s frustrating to say the least.
