Got from my good friend: That reminds me of Eric Crouch when Bobby Newcombe was picked as starter and Eric left school. Solich did went to his home and asked for faith and be with team. He return and turned out he won Heisman.

Van Browson started over Jerry Tagge to start the 1969 season and eventually Tagge out performed Van Browson and ended up winning 2 National titles long before we had Crouch and Newcombe..
