Liking UK's chances to win the East.

Don't forget that it's the first week of the season. Most teams will be shaking off rust and getting the nerves out of the way. Then you factor in coaching changes. So I would take this week's results with a grain of salt and at least wait until after our game to see where it looks like we are headed.

Let's calm down.

Seriously. I agree with the 7-5/8-4 predictions but this is ridiculous.

It will be Tenn, Georgia or Florida

My pick is Tennessee, still.

App State is a really, really good football team. They're better than South Carolina, Vandy, Missouri and maybe even us.

The SEC East has been around for 25 years. During has time UK has finished no better than third.

Now all of a sudden we should "comfortably" reach Atlanta with a brand new QB who has yet to start an SEC game, a shaky Front 7 and questions at the OT position? And after watching only 3 of the 7 SEC East teams play? And considering we play Alabama this year?

I tell you, we UK fans are our own worst enemy sometimes. The things we come up with..........

Easy now. Let's not get carried away. Tennessee just didn't show up.

I like the gators to win the East. UT ran into a buzz saw last night. Appy State is an excellent team...veterans with good coaching. UK cannot rest, likewise, on an experienced Southern Miss team...

We haven't even put our shoes on yet and some come on here predicting we will win the division already just because UT had a tough time with a very good App State team last night. Sorry, my expectations still aren't anywhere close to that and I'm waiting to see how our guys look tomorrow night against a more than decent S. Miss team before I get my hopes up very high. Been disappointed far too much in recent seasons. Hell, been disappointed for decades as a UK football fan.

I can't see to many NFL teams that would be competitive with us. :joy:[jumpingsmile][roll]
I expect the OP will see us as favorites going to Bama game.

I love the internet, it's either Sydney or the Bush! Either we are going to win the MNC or we are going to be 0-12 and worse than Kansas.

Win. Highly unlikely. However, 3rd in the East isn't that far fetched if we handle our business and then steal one of the big 3 games.

So looking at the schedule.
So Miss - you hope for a W, but could honestly see a L here. but lets say we win. 1-0
@ UF. - Until the streak is snapped, history repeats. L 1-1
New Mex St - Have no clue about them but say a W 2-1
USC - Saw part of them last night we should W but who knows say W. 3-1
@ Bama - I honestly say we will be in this game until kickoff, then all down hill from there L 3-2
Vandy - Should win, but we should have won last year. W 4-2
MSU - No clue what the team will look like with out Prescott. Should win on Paper 5-2
@ Mizz - Should win, but a road SEC Game, who knows W 6-2 Could be bowling here.
UGA - loss 6-3
@UT -loss 6-4
Austin Peay -should be a win 7-4
@UL loss- 7-5

Should end with 7-5 not a remotely clear shot at the SEC East with losing at least 4 SEC Games. Also you can see this team going 7-5, but have some losable games for us to pull another 5-7 or 4-8. A win against So Miss is a good start. I would be thrilled if we were to be 4-0 again before our first loss.

Hah I wouldn't say win the east?? But the Cats should at least be competitive. Tenn may of looked like a bag of a#% last night but I still think they have the best shot at the sec East.

Drink a tall, cold glass of BLUE KOOL AID, son. Let's wait a few weeks before we jump the gun on winning the east division. Each week is going to be extremely TUFF.

Of course it takes wins and more wins by us but looking at the Opponents, Schedule and Coaching Changes with different systems I think the SEC EAST is more Winnable then ever..

If UK somehow wins the SEC East and / or even be in the conversation it would be huge for Stoops in terms taking this program to another level.

Wish I had your optimism, Robcat[winking][thumb2].....I am thinking that the Cats make big strides offensively this year and get to a bowl. That would be a win/win from my stand point.

I know op is trolling because he makes these lame threads all the time during football season.

Even though he doesn't seem to care that he's not funny at all, I wonder how many opposing fans come by and actually believe that he thinks this. Makes us look bad.

OP is the best troll this board has ever had.

Not sure how I feel about that. He gets people hook, line, and sinker consistently, but you know rivals see it and apply it to how our fanbase feels.

How about we beat Florida for once and then and only then can we even seriously start to debate the chances of winning the SEC East. And even if we do that the chances of winning the East is a long shot at best.

This. /thread

Beat Florida and maybe things are messy enough at the top for a 1st or 2nd place finish.

How do you all not see a wide open opportunity to take the East this year? We have ONE "guaranteed" loss in the SEC this season and that is Alabama. Florida, Mizzou, USC, Vandy, and Miss. St. are all games we can/should win. The biggest argument I see from this is Florida. I don't care about the past, yes Florida has had our number for many years, but it isn't going to last forever. This is the year we get them. Secondly our remaining two SEC games are @UT, which excuse me if I'm mistaken but I'm not so certain they are "unbeatable", especially after watching last nights #9 team in the nation play and then we have Georgia at home whom we have traditionally played very well against even in our worst years and let's be honest... Georgia has a tendency to blow things when it comes down to it. The SEC East is wide open this year and the Cat's have the POTENTIAL to win it, not saying they will. It's pretty obvious for anyone to see who can look beyond the past.
Go Cats!

I guess if getting replies means you're a good troll, then he is.

But it's clear to me that he's one of those people that thinks he's hilarious but all of his jokes are awful. Like kindergarten level. He would probably kill himself if he didn't get replies.
