How do you all not see a wide open opportunity to take the East this year? We have ONE "guaranteed" loss in the SEC this season and that is Alabama. Florida, Mizzou, USC, Vandy, and Miss. St. are all games we can/should win. The biggest argument I see from this is Florida. I don't care about the past, yes Florida has had our number for many years, but it isn't going to last forever. This is the year we get them. Secondly our remaining two SEC games are @UT, which excuse me if I'm mistaken but I'm not so certain they are "unbeatable", especially after watching last nights #9 team in the nation play and then we have Georgia at home whom we have traditionally played very well against even in our worst years and let's be honest... Georgia has a tendency to blow things when it comes down to it. The SEC East is wide open this year and the Cat's have the POTENTIAL to win it, not saying they will. It's pretty obvious for anyone to see who can look beyond the past.
Go Cats!

I think every game we play is a winneable game. Every team is going to have holes in their squad. Its the ability to plug those holes and overcome the deficiences you have. Gonna have to raise up your play elsewhere.
For example Bama has a brand new QB and a new backfield. One that isnt deep by their standards. Harris did not look very good last year in his limited carries. He was 2nd on the depth chart out of necessity and rarely touched the ball. That tells you a lot. Scarborough is unproven as well and their qb could be an interception machine.

To me its more or less of who has the biggest holes on their teams and can they plug those holes where they are not as leaky.

Our holes are special teams, OT, QB and our front 7. I think Barker can plug that leak in QB play, our LB on paper should be improved and the OT should be improved as well. Hopefully special teams is not a disaster again this year. But i dont have a ton of confidence in our DL.

I don't have any idea how good or bad we are going to be, we will be extremely young in the DL, 3 true frosh and 2 true soph in the the top 6, 2 true soph starting at ILB, maybe just 1. 2 OLB are new starters but have played alot the last 2 years, secondary returns intact. We are apparently going to start Lambert at qb, not my favorite, but Chubb is back with no restrictions on him, Holyfield has looked great in practice, Sony will be ready for SEC opener, but we have issues at WR, great TEs. We may not be very good this year, but new guy in town, I don't think we are going to have those annual games where we just don't bother to show up anymore. We may get beat, but we will look like we been at practice instead of taking the week off and showing up for the game.

The OP is always trolling and people fall for it. I haven't been posting on here or b-ball board much the last few months but anyone who is anyone knows Rob.

I willl be content with a 6-6 7-5 type season...as it takes time to build up. The SEC East may not be very good, but we aren't either.

Get by Florida, got Georgia at home, Tennessee, Vandy, and South Carolina are steaming piles.

Cats could get to Atlanta fairly convincingly.
I refuse to get very excited about the coming season. I've been let down too many times. I want to see some quality wins before I start thinking about winning the East, or just having a winning season or a winning season in the SEC. And 6-6 is not a winning season. Go Cats!!

I agree! We have better talent than Missouri, South Carolina, and Vandy! After last night, I'm convinced that we have as much talent as Tennessee and can play with Georgia (close to their talent level)! That's in the East! We're just as good as Mississippi State and can be competitive with Alabama (we may not win, but I firmly believe that Alabama will know they have been in a football game.)

There is zero chance UK wins the SEC East.
Oh C'mon...that's what they said about Mizzou their first year in the SEC. We have a 5-8% to win the league IMHO....nobody with our returning talent has a zero % chance. Get a clue.

I personally think our DL is going to surprise a lot of people this year. Elam is going to be key though. He has to be able to draw double teams for our defense to be effective. The only thing on special teams I am worried about would be punting... obviously, that's pretty important, unless our offense just keeps scoring :)

I'm looking forward to seeing Georgia play, they will definitely be in the top 3-4 of the East this year and could win it as well. Chubb is a beast and our D-Line is our main concern at this point so that will be interesting to watch progress as the season goes on. I will always cheer for Georgia over any other team in the East so best of luck to you this season and I look forward to a good game here in Lexington.

Let's get by Southern Miss before we play for the Championship in Atlanta.

Thx, I am thinking/hoping we have a change in qb by the third game, Eason can make throws Lambert only dreams about making. Realistically we are a year away, if Eason plays a good bit this year, we will return 16-20 starters depending on who leaves early, we are awfully young.

If Southern Miss were to pull the upset. The Cats could still go 10-2 win the East, and get a rematch with Bama in the SEC Championship game. I think Bama gets us on thier home field, but the Cats return the favor in Atlanta.

I know op is trolling because he makes these lame threads all the time during football season.

Even though he doesn't seem to care that he's not funny at all, I wonder how many opposing fans come by and actually believe that he thinks this. Makes us look bad.
OP has been on drugs for years.

I think UK should finish no lower than 4th in the east.

Mizzou, Vandy, and USC are all atrocious on offense.

Mississippi State looked worse than I expected even though they took some heavy losses.

I still believe that Tennessee is the team to beat and they just had a bad game.
