All.... With a 6-1 vote by the school board Lincoln after next year will no longer be part of the CS8. They will join the Apollo Conference. Oh joy back to a nine team conference and finding non con games for schools especially difficult to do in weeks 2-8. Ratsy

All.... This is for all sports. Travel times will be increased for Lincoln. And in football they will still get battered. But the Railsplitters will be playing for the most part smaller schools so maybe it's a good thing.

Maybe a renewal of the MCHS games for SHG

All.... Good luck getting anyone else (other than SHG) to go along with a CCL-CS8 one and done regardless of what teams the rest of our conference might end up playing. Ratsy

All.... Now that would be great. The Broncos and Cyclones went at it for eight years on opening day no less. Other than those damn tolls on 355 (lol) the road trips to Lombard were quite fun. Ratsy

All..... Announcement coming shortly Normal University from the Corn Belt Conference will be joining the CS8 a year from now. Ratsy

All.... SJR reporting Homewood-Flossmoor sophomore HC Matt Silkowski will be the new Lincoln HC. Other than what is on the Vikings web site does anyone have any additional information on him and thoughts in general on his coaching style? Just curious. Ratsy

Makes me sad that Lincoln follows Taylorville's lead and decides to hurt all their programs in hopes to win some football games. I guess it has worked for Taylorville? They now are the best program in an easier football conference. In the CS8 they never have the success they have had the past two seasons, so I guess it worked? However, now the freshman volleyball team make some super long drives on school nights costing their district a lot more money. Now they are looking at looking at dropping programs because they have no money? Lincoln is the middle of the pack in several sports and near or at the top in a few sports in the CS8. Now they are following Taylorville. They are only making those long trips on Saturday mornings? That will cost their district a ton and ruin Saturdays for a bunch of families? All in an effort to win a few more football games? I think U High is a good fit, but I would have gone with QND as a football member and then maybe invite them to tournaments (Track/Wrestling/Tennis/Golf meets/matches ect..) in other sports?
