Lincoln-Way North - Coach Czart

Well, I know Bwm57 was asking for updates regarding coaching positions in LW210. If you follow the Save Lincoln-Way North Facebook page, this may all be for naught, at least they believe. The crazy lady administrator, among other gems, expounded last week the theory that redistricting of 210 will deem thousands of athletes ineligible for one year in the "new" district, treating them all as transfers. Imagine that scenario with the IHSA if you could. Well, it helped anger the populace of LWN as well as the other remaining schools of the district to say the least.
Now, assuming the LWN closing does occur, where will that leave Coach George Czart? The current Coach of the Year in Illinois, who by the way was not a favorite of the same LWN community one short year before after a gut wrenching loss to WWS in the playoffs...where will he be?
It looks to be a happy, if not great placement for Coach Czart, landing in district, at LW West assisting his friend Dave Ernst. A class act, George Czart will be involved with the Warriors, helping to gather that first state title for Lincoln-Way West. Stay tuned, the lawyers have arrived. Best of luck to Coach Czart and welcome to a more friendly west side.

Whoever said the IHSA would rule all those kids ineligible is an idiot.

mc140 agreed. The sad part is the SaveLincoln-Way North folks have alienated the district by following this woman who continues to spread innuendos and her personal beliefs, under the auspices of political correctness. Last weekend there was a 3 day assault on common sense regarding the eligibility of LW District 210 athletes going forward with a line by line analysis of the IHSA transfer forms. Needless to say this little league mom has stirred the pot with rants from mostly other moms on this Facebook page SaveLincoln-Way North. Coach Czart should feel blessed moving away from this insanity. Heck even the taxpayers unite group is trying to distance themselves from her drivel.

Pretty sure they don't sit out a year if they go to the school in their district. If they go to a private school, they sit a year

any time school closes, students are immediately eligible the next year. Private or home public school, you can play right away

Bwm57... You out there? Later tonight I will put this to a poll question. I have had way too many calls in the last week about this.

I personally know students from Mt. Assisi that recently closed were eligible the following year at Sandburg, Stagg, Q of P, Benet, etc.

Kids who attended Forest View High School in 1986 were given the choice of attending Elk Grove, Prospect, or Rolling Meadows high schools and immediately eligible.

Just from a football standpoint, the addition of Coach Czart to Ernst's staff will continue to make West a force to be reckoned with. Wasn't Czart the defensive coordinator for Kooi when he won the state titles at Lockport?
Also, just curious, why didn't Andrew or Sandburg come calling for Coach Czart seeing that they had openings? Seemed he would made a lot of sense to either program.

Sorry all. Just showing how illogical the folks represented by Savelincolnwaynorth have been. One week ago, against all contrary statements and opinions, the crazy mom and posse insisted the kids would sit a year. Not just the LWN kids but also those moving from LWW, LWC and LWE. I just needed some common sense to prevail over the single administrator called Savelincolnwaynorth Facebook page. Apologies but I knew EDGY followers know how to embrace facts over fiction....well usually anyway.

To me it sounds like a foolish parent showing her

Sorry I missed the sarcasm in that poll. Sounds like some insanity ruling the day in D210.

Regarding Andrew or Sandburg coming to call on prospective head coaches, be reminded of the decades-old policy in that district of NOT awarding new hires their years of experience from former teaching positions.

Well the rumor is Andrew just offered their job to a coach but told him they have to wait a few months before they know for sure if they have a teaching job for him.

Thanks mates1 for the update. Not sure that I agree with that policy. Seems to hinder the schools in that district from getting the best coaches available.

Any word on who would take that job? Must be a young coach with little experience.

I refuse to root for the district now. The way the board screwed over the North community, students, and most recently Coach Czart, I can't support them in any sense. All four LW coaches interviewed for the three jobs. I'm very okay with Z staying; he built the program. Ernst just took them to the state game, and he's done a fantastic job there too; I'm okay with that. There is no way in HELL that the Central coach is more qualified for that job than George Czart. I'm happy that he's going to be working with his friend, but he deserved a head coaching job. I will root against every team in this district, I never liked them anyway but no there's no reason for me to support LW210 after what has transpired over this past half-year +

North2- WELL SAID!
George is a prenominal coach! The kids are the ones that truly lose out. Cordell is a decent enough coach and a good guy but do you really want decent enough?

Cordell does an amazing job with Dad/son camps, Twitter, websites, and selling himself. What he isn't is George Czart or Rob Glielimi. Give him a chance? Sure everyone deserves a chance but sadly the kids that get cheated in the long run are the kids who could have played for a proven program builder and state championship level coach ( as a coordinator in multiple programs)!

North was on its way to winning a state title and Central would have been too!
Ernst is the man who wins big time in this deal!

GO WARRIORS!

North2Mizzou- Sorry you feel that way about the district. Maybe you should have talked to him after the WWS loss about the abuse he suffered for months in 2014 from the community. His response may have been more a testament to the man George is than anything he has done on the football field. That my friend was a travesty. Coach used that to fuel his drive for the finale at North this season. This by no means is an easy transition for the district and the pain is spread across the board from all the high schools. It was a golden year for the North Phoenix for sure! On the other hand, if you continue to live in Illinois, this will be a mere speck of injustice shown towards the taxpayers of this state. Now, if you have/ or had George in the classroom you were blessed, as there is no one that can stack up to his math teaching skills!

Sorry for the late response. Given that football season is over and North will be history I don't see too much need to check this board often.

The way Coach Czart led his team this year was nothing short of incredible. I myself was very critical of him after he handled the end of the WWS game. I thought a win there could have really solidified North as a real powerhouse in the state.

He knew it was on him, and he owned it. You said it, that's his character right there. He always talked to us about never making excuses for ourselves and he practiced what he's been preaching.

Coach Czart was a good man to me both on the field and in the classroom. More than anything else he taught me was to hold myself accountable. I really feel like I learned that lesson when I was apart of the LWN football team on all levels. Which speaks to the character Czart brought in as assistants, who were all extremely qualified.

I'm really going to miss the hell out of North. Yeah it may be sour grapes but I feel like I need someone to blame because of how angry I am at this. Czart preached accountability and not making excuses, so who is held accountable for this? I think the board did a real disservice by closing down one of the most respected, prestigious, beautiful schools in the state. That was my school.

I'm pissed off. Like I said, I never liked any other schools in this district to begin with, so I will not support any other Lincoln-Way. I can't do it, especially now that they've told Coach Czart he wasn't good enough to lead one of their schools.

North2- Coach will be fine. Blaming the district for an over zealous building scheme of 2 high schools, with a down turn of the housing market, combined with our wonderful state can be blamed. The 355 proposal, Illiana expressway, third airport....yeah predictions were way off. Predicting the next 10 years today could and is a nightmare as well. Here is my personal issue. How can I as a Mokena resident support LWE after the dreadful bashing from the LW North population represented by SaveLincolnway north supporters when they will make up 2/3 of the population next year? The tactics used are/were and continue to be a dividing force going forward. I can only hope the students act like the adults in the very near future in district 210. I am also hoping the actions of a few on Facebook are not shared by the majority. You can blame the prior administrators for the majority of your contempt North2Mizzou. Taking statements out of context regarding funding of perks destroyed the school board today.

WIU78, I think the students will act like adults and adjust to the changes just fine. I have a freshman at North, and while he's disappointed his school is closing, he's looking forward to going to East as are several of his classmates. I can't wait to see what LWE football team looks like next year.

I think they kids will be fine and will adjust. Parents will have a bigger issue and will cause problems when Jimmy or Sally isn't getting as much playing time as they used to.

WIU, agree there are many uninformed statements being made by the angry mob that don't really represent the majority.
Not sure what your statement about out of content statements means and this isn't really the place for that discussion, feel free to message me and I will be glad to supply you with FOIA documents that might make you think this is more than funding of perks.

Bwm. Signing a user agreement does not make a person guilty of also knowing about $40K improvements to the said facility. At this point Ann Jenkins has become a wedge between the communities. The LWATU efforts are hurt because of this advocate. Her single focus of destroying an individual and his life is not acceptable in my opinion. Check her out yet today. The lawyer for the LWATU is also of questionable character... If you think I am missing something let me know and I will try to touch base with you. I am not naive enough to think the prior super is not to blame.

Having lived in both Frankfort Square where LWN is and then moving to the Frankfort Villiage where LWE is I can tell you their is a vast difference in the two areas. The North square area I would consider more Blue Collar while East is more White collar. Because of these differences I am not surprised to see these parents acting out. They really are some of the most supportive parents of there kids. They will eventually come around and the two areas will come together again like they did in 2005. In the end it will be a good thing for the community and the East athletic programs.

Go East! Welcome back North community!

Corey your comments regarding the Square and Frankfort would have you stoned in the LW District during the hate festival going on in the North boundaries. I am telling you after the school boards decision to close a school are confirmed by the courts , East will not be the happy playground you left. Ohio looks great to me! Hiring a smuck lawyer from Tinley, combined with the scare tactics of watch dog groups has driven the insanity. 7000 students can only be housed in two of the districts buildings forcing closing either West or North....and maybe both considering the turmoil Illinois currently is experiencing. Irony is the Phoenix remain intact moving back to East...all the other schools will be divided...a mess. Any room for me in OH?

Bwm57...I have been to two of the LWATU meetings. What exactly do you think will happen to the lawsuit to keep North open? Nothing. Emotions rule even at the information meetings. If you can get to your friend Ann...and I know you can, do us all a favor. No apology from her after infuriating the "transfer" of student athletes? We will be down two schools before it is said and done.

So Edgy and LWeastdad... You must believe that the proposed law dealing with the cost shift of school pensions going to the local districts will become law, since the state has already signed-off on the LW plan of closing North and agree that they will start seeing surpluses starting next year. The only way that LW closes another school (LW West) is if the state passes the cost shift law. If the cost shift happens, many multi-school districts will be doing the same thing.

If you think there is a big gap between the haves and have nots in this state, see what happens if they pass the law to shift pensions onto the district. Any district in financial trouble will have an even harder time getting/keeping quality teachers.
Basically, the state is saying, "We've screwed this up so bad and taken all of the money from it that we can so here you go! Now you school districts can deal with the financial mess we created by taking money from your workers' pension fund to pay for other "stuff" and not paying it back."
Funny how lawmakers never include their pensions when taking about pension reform. Its always about the state employees, police, firemen, teacher, etc. who have sucked the state's money for too long. Too bad these people can't be elected for a 4 year term and get a full pension at $100,000/year for the rest of their lives.

Who voted for the people at the state level who did this? Not me. You can look to basically one political party to find the culprits. These people made a deal with the devil. If you get in bed with a bunch of rattlesnakes you are liable to get bitten. Now you have these politicians taking the line "Otter" spoke in "Animal House" when he said to "Flounder", "you F'ed up, you trusted us."

All the damage these people have done to the ones affected and they keep right on voting for them. This could be seen coming a LONG time ago. But they either didn't pay attention or ignored the warning signs. For that, I don't feel sorry for any of them who voted for these scum bags.

With the stat of Illinois and their terrible financial situation, do you believe it will come down on anyone but the taxpayer?

You bet it will. We are the second highest taxed state in the US and will be the highest shortly

Which is exactly why more people are leaving Illinois, in relation to those moving in, than any other state. Oh, people are making other excuses such as weather etc. That's bull. Taxes are the number one reason.

I am retired and my wife will retire in about three years. We already have out-of-state property. Before she retires, we are selling our house here. Then when she does retire, we are gone from this God forsaken state. Some of you guy can deal with this sh*t.
