Do not expect much from Scottie if he plays. He will have to round back into shape and build up some endurance. We should not expect him to carry the load. Hopefully he can give us 15-20 minutes.

If it means less minutes for Brown and Taphorn, it's a plus.

I hope that by just returning to the games, SLind will give the Cats an emotional lift. We absolutely cannot lose this game against Rutgers tonite! Let's pull it together and win at home!

Excellent news. I can't wait to see Scotty back out there.

While we worry about his conditioning, I really hope he hasn't lost too much weight from mono to the point where it impacts his defense. I recall when Kevin Love returned from a longer term shoulder injury, he'd lost so much muscle mass that he could be easily pushed around in the post. Once he regained it he was back to his All star self for the Cavs (although he's now unfortunately hurt again).

Guys, relax. He was only out a little over 2 weeks. Love was out months. Any weight he lost will be put back on right away.

I know there are almost no such things as "must wins," but we may have one tonight. At home versus one of the worst teams in the conference when every game matters for getting into the Tourney.

@julescat, thank you for liking my post and putting my likes received total at 666. Should I be nervous? I suddenly feel the urge to do something evil. I will try to fight the urge and have another cup of coffee, having good stuff today, Sumatra Mandheling freshly ground.

Edit- A kind soul got me off the hook, feel a little better now plus an extra shot of caffeine

Totally agree. However, don't you think it would be incredibly helpful to get some nice defense, ball handling as well as forcing the defense to focus on him in a "decoy-ish" role in this 15-20 mins? I'd bet that combo is worth five points.

It is the only game remaining on our schedule that could be classified as a bad loss and no bad losses is one of the things that gives us a solid Tournament Resume. Plus we have to get to at least 10 wins and if we were to lose, much harder getting those two wins out of our remaining games

There aren't too many things in life better than great coffee. I did not know that you are a connoisseur. Good that Fitzphile got you off the hook.

Don't know about being A connoisseur, but I have been buying whole bean and grinding my own fresh for about 40 years. I

usually have 6-8 different coffees on hand. For some reason Sumatra is my regular for Saturday and Sunday morning. My latest discovery, over a year ago, is Monsooned Malabar, kind of funky but I love the stuff. Just before the holidays, my niece in Louisville sent me a pound of coffee from a local roaster in Kentucky. It is Guatemala Antigua, but he ages it in bourbon barrels, and the smell is just beautiful.

Even if SLin just gets into the next couple games as he gets back into game shape, maybe we can use him as a distraction like Section 112 alluded to. For the opposing team to have to respect his presence- maybe that will open the games for our other players to score with more open shots? Didn't the football team do this late last season as Carr came back from the concussion and wasn't 100% yet. We got good results- we beat Illini and Pitt in the bowl game. Hopefully, the basketball team can follow in suit and get a streak of wins together?!
