That first line that comes out is sort of a "feeler" line at times...but that is a big drop.

Vegas is in the business of being right. When they drop a line that much there is usually a pretty good reason. Very interesting. Almost seem like they are trying to entice people to pick Wisc.

I always thought Vegas doesn't have to be right, you do. No matter the number, you have to decide if it's to much or to little and put you r money where your mouth is, and most people bet scared, or money they can't afford to really lose, which adds to the benefit of the bookies, not the better. I freely admit I could be on an island with that, but it's something I always felt had some merit to it. I do not bet, so WTF do I know when it comes down to it.

Might have to do with loss of players & BYU (the team Wisconsin lost to at home) showing they aren't very good, after being blown out by Washington and Utah State. However, I can't say I follow BYU football beyond the scores so maybe they are a different football team than the one that beat Wisconsin? Or maybe, just maybe... Vegas got a tip that our players decided to get serious about football this week?

Gambling is simple - If we bet a lot on Nebraska - the line drops - Vegas gets more bets on Wisconsin - they even out the money. Vegas couldn't care less about who wins the game. They take their 10% commish on every losing bet.

Not true. You should read the book “The Odds” sometime. Sometimes they try to even out money. Sometimes they don’t feel comfortable with a game/line and want less action (7 point line as an example), sometimes they think they are smarter than the betting public and try to trick them. The old “looks to good to be true”, like when our line dropped to -3 at Illinois Riley’s first year or when it was a pickem’ against a top 10 MSU team that same year.

Funny how we cover yet any chance we tried to make it a game, a flag was thrown. When you have Jr High school vice principals as refs, this is the crap you get. Wisconsin was a safe cover, didn’t happen. But yet, we try to make it a game, flag thrown. NCAA = dirty sports

I wonder who pays more to these refs.

Their pay as a JR HS VP
The NCAA
Vegas
Or the conference.

dirty dirty dirty sport.

Won’t see this scam tomorrow. NFL refs at least have integrity
