I know that preseason games are meaningless, but in today's Lions game versus the Colts, JJTBC rushed 7 times for 54 yards and Godwin Igwebuike rushed 7 times for 32 yards.

JJTBC just makes plays whenever he’s in the game. Hopefully he can stay healthy and be a contributor for the Lions this year. I’m afraid he and Godwin will be competing for the same roster spot.

I think Godwin is a special teams specialist so he is probably not competing with The Ball Carrier.

I’ve been watching Hard Knocks again only to see highlights of JJTBC and Godwin, and so far there was a cool meeting room video of them in the front row (opposite sides of the room).

But the clip was focused on Lion’s annoying RB coach (Duce Staley) praising/motivating their top RB, Swift. Hopefully they’ll get more airtime this week with those performances.

I don’t know if anyone else caught this, but Zach Strief made a brief appearance in episode 1. He’s the player they show Mark Brunell (Lions QV coach) hugging in the highlight from their super bowl with New Orleans.

Just watched the episode and neither of our RBs were really featured much. Jamaal Williams was, but he acted like a jerk in their intrateam scrimmage with the Colts. Disappointed.

But the backup RB who was featured for personal reasons left a lump in my throat. Hard not to cheer for a guy like that.
