Ole Dale from Frankfort didn't hold back. lol

Man that guy was all over Stoops. If the players played with Dale's intensity we'd be undefeated. Can't believe they let him rant but I give Stoops a little credit for telling them to let the guy keep talking. Then they lost the feed as soon as Stoops started answering. Wish I could have heard Stoops reply. Never thought a caller could get that much time to lay into the coach. Must not be screening or the screener's as mad as the fans.

No but he was genuine with the, No let him talk......considering how he handle Natt Jones questioning him and not just some bill jack fan......his ability to chill and roll with it leads me to believe he was coached and prepped for it.

Yeah, I heard that on my way home from work. Like someone else said, give them credit for letting the guy speak his mind. I can vaguely remember when I was a kid in the waning days of the Fran Curci that the call-in show would get pretty testy at times.

Dude just called in and lit into Stoops. I'll give him props not cutting the call...
This^^^^Tom was wanting to cut him off...Dale is perfect example of the passion of the FOOTBALL FB at UK and a perfect of how bad the fan base wants a winner...oh yes. And he was certainly was right about the coaches getting their heads out of their rears and getting on the same page

So from the end of the game to that call, they were able to coach Stoops and find a guy to call and rant like that? Somebody was moving quick! ;-)

Can anyone summarize what the caller said?

I'll describe it the best I can. I was so shocked that he was allowed to tear into Stoops I might not get it perfect but it went something like this: He said his name was Dale and he took off like a rocket. Said Stoops says the guys need to be bigger, stronger, faster etc but reminded him that he said that three years ago and now he's had those three years and he says the talent is better so why are we still getting beaten while an underdog to a team like Vandy. Told him he can't say he's upgraded the talent one day and then use the lack of talent as an excuse the next day. He said Stoops claims UK football has been terrible for over 50 years and that was BS. He said Brooks had some good teams and we finally put money into the program and he didn't appreciate Stoops saying UK football has never had a winning program. Stoops sort of apologized for the comment but Dale went after him again and Stoops told Tom to let the guy keep talking. Dale said the fans bought in and they're doing their part and said Stoops doesn't even have a special teams coach and ended by saying that if we finish by losing the next two games that there won't be any fans in the stands next year and UK fans deserve better than what we're getting and it's time to see improvement. Then when he was hanging up to listen it seemed like Tom and Stoops were taking his comments a little light hearted and he jumped back in and told them it wasn't funny. Then Stoops started to acknowledge Dale's comments and the feed went haywire for five minutes so we couldn't hear what Stoops had to say. More than anything it was the passion in Dale's voice. If this guy could have suited up he would have beaten Vandy by himself. I really hope this wasn't a set up because he hit almost every point the fans are pissed about and he was madder than hell but he was very fair.

A previous caller had asked Stoops why it was taking so long to get results. Stoops said it was tough to build in this league and especially tough when Kentucky has played bad football for 50 years.

It sounded like that was what pissed Dale off, as he immediately said that we played pretty good football under Brooks. I don't remember there being a specific complaint that he had, just ranting in general.

I don't know if you can hear the show again but I just wish the feed didn't go haywire. We couldn't hear Stoops response and it took forever to get the signal back. I don't know what happened there. Surely this guy was legit, no way he was a ringer. Wouldn't want to get into an argument with that dude..... he was spot on and wasn't going to let anyone shut him up until he spoke his mind. Hell of a UK fan.

Yeah, there are three stations that are on the UK network that have the call-in show that I can pick up, and when the station I was listening went blank I thought there was just a problem with that particular station. When I tuned to the other channels I got the same thing, except they started playing a LOT of commercials.

Part of me is tempted to think they took an unscheduled "break" to clear the air following that call. I would give Dale a medal and shake his hand if I could find him.

Lord I loved his teams and I DON'T CARE HOW HE GOT THEM. When the admin. cut his legs off at the knees it was back to awful football again.

It didn't cut off on my radio and Stoops handled it well. Basically said he's a big boy and he can take it and he doesn't blame fans for being frustrated. Said it takes time to fill up with talent to compete but knows they have to do better with what they have. And that it's killing him too as he's competitive and hates to lose especially when they outplay someone like Vandy. Said that was the first game in the past few they felt they were better and played better but still lost because of mistakes. Overall just stated he knows the frustration and can't blame fans and dated they will get it fixed and get it done no question.

Stoops is getting where he does nothing but make excuses! We don't have this, or that, have to get better. That's on me! He sounds like Al Golden! When do you say it is on you and let him go?

Stoops does have way too many excuses for a head coach. It's kind of pathetic. Like when he says if it worked theyd be calling me a genius when asked about horrible play calls. And when getting criticized he says it's harder than it looks and tells the fans to try it out. You're getting paid 3 million a year to do something you're not any good at shut up and get better.

I can't for one second explain stoops' approach here. If it's not working, you correct it. If you do nothing and it still doesn't work, then it's on you.

Worse case scenario, your special teams suck and you blame it on that specific coach. Otherwise it's on you so why not hire one?!? #WHYNOT
