Charley Johnson was my guy at a young age, and obviously the Orange Crush Defense with Gradishar, Alzado, Tom Jackson, Louis Wright, and Steve Foley. Louis Wright should be in the Hall of Fame.
A buddy of mine played with Alzado at Yankton College. Lyle would get him on the sidelines in Denver without a pass.

Getting sideline passes and being able to watch the Orange Crush from the sidelines would have been a lot of fun. Still amazes me to this day that Lyle Alzado played college football in Yankton.

Come back and let us know when your teams minimum standard is the AFC championship game.
chiefs fans are the only fandom that feels personally responsible for their teams' success.

i promise you that eating hashbrowns for dinner and carrying a knock-off stanley cup with the team logo plastered on it did nothing to the win column,

The Pats didn’t make their schedule, the NFL did. Wins at Buffalo and Tampa Bay isn’t garbage, but they have benefited from a weaker schedule based on their record last year.
Who suggested they did? I was just saying a few of these good teams (Broncos being one) have had easier schedules.

The Broncos were third last year in the AFC West and drew the Bengals and Jets (both respectively third) and packers. The Bengals and Jets certainly make schedules easier.

They also drew the Superbowl Champion and won so that's a pretty weak argument.

The Patriots have played 4 teams with a winning record, lets not act like they're running through any juggernauts.

I'm confused as to what you are talking about. I referenced the Patriots as having a weak schedule, and @Huskersoxfan made the brilliant case the Patriots didn't pick their schedule. Which, who knew teams didn't chose their own schedule?!

I mean, ESPN has the Patriots as the easiest and the Broncos in the easiest quartile.

Apologies for misunderstanding, I interpreted your post as saying the Patriots had a tougher schedule.

That was a tough way to end an otherwise great weekend. Need to retool the o-line in the off season, move on from an aging star or two, hit on a few players in the draft. Chiefs got real old real fast in some important spots. Been a great run!!

When I was a kid, we had a middle school principal who played football in college with Alzado.
That friend of mine says he runs in to tons of people who claimed to have roomed with Lyle or were friends of his. He says 99% of them are making it up. He has some hilarious stories about hanging out with Lyle. He also has some sad ones about Lyle’s failings. He loved the guy but Lyle had some problems.

He also knew Joe Klecko when he worked in NY. Bounced at a bar Joe was a partner in. Lifted some with him and went to dinner with him some. He has to be the only nobody to sit next to both Lyle and Joe signing autographs. We laughed and laughed after he told me about somebody leaving a line asking his buddy who the f that guy was.

I envision a few more faded Tamarick Vanover jerseys are going to find their way back in garage sales this offseason

The Chief hate obsession is weird to me. Mahomes has been to five super bowls and seven consecutive AFC championship games. So the joke is on the haters. So they had a bad year where everything went bad and others caught up to them. It was inevitable. Outside of the Chiefs, I couldn’t give two chits about any other NFL team. I’ve enjoyed watching my teams success and look forward to seeing how they regroup.

Mahomes faking an injury was icing on the cake

RIP chiefs

hope this is the beginning of long lasting futility for the league’s scummiest franchise
I'm so confused. I thought you were all about winning. They make 5 superbowls, 5 of the last 6 AFC championships, 3 superbowl wins. They are the best franchise over the last decade and have a qb that has been loyal, taken pay cuts to win. Maybe you are just a miserable person who bitches no matter what. I'm a Bengals fan, don't care about the Chiefs but seems like a small peen move to hope for the best teams to fall apart. The nfl is already hard enough to watch.

People hated the Patriots and Brady for the same reason. It’s why Iowa still hates Nebraska. Success breeds haters, even if that success was awhile ago. I know people who still hate the Patriots. I guess if I was a fan of a team with a pathetic past like, the Bears or something, I’d hate a winner too.

So you’re an obsessed hater? Must suck to be you. It’s football team, bro. The hate ain’t worth it. 🙄🙄.
Nah, I love life. Terrific job, gorgeous wife, model American family.

I don't have to love your Disney NFL team buddy. I also hate Iowa and Michigan, hope that doesn't make you cry too.

Who’s crying? DGAS what you like. I don’t like Iowa either. But I don’t create threads expressing my disdain about them. That’s kinda weird.
