This kid has been solid as a rock at the position. He might just find his way onto an NFL roster. My wife always asks me, "if we had a son, what position would you want him to play?". My answer, long snapper.

Too much hand eye coordination in that one and plus you have to be able to kick. Long snapper you can be taught to pass through your legs. I used to do it till a shoulder injury.(playing center) Had a coach in Pop Warner teach me. Made varsity football as freshman doing it. IMO easiest job to get your son a starting position. Especially nowadays where it's illegal to line up over center.

Clark Harris and Andrew DePoalo have been enjoying successful NFL careers as long snappers.

And when contact is made with a punter he's usually in a very awkward position with a decent risk of injury.

Sad that long snapper and punter have been our strongest positions the last few years.
Truly our best position was grant at kick returner ... tied NCAA record for most kick returns for TD .. although they don’t mention the fine print where we have the ncaa record for most kick returns period

Billy has been one of the most dependable players at his position during his first two years for Rutgers. Don't know his name? That's because he has been so solid. He also hauls his butt downfield and is usually one of the first few with a shot at the punt returner. He is getting much deserved attention now.

Somebody should call The Guiness Book. Clark Harris has the record at 37 1/2 yards and he just snapped it 41! Sounds like a new world record to me at "Longsnapper U"!

When my first son turned 4, I used to have him stand near the mailbox and try to snap it in
