I feel for my Bison as they take the five hour bus ride home to BG from ESL. Took that long trip home after we lost in the ‘84 and ‘85 semis at Parsons Field.

I was wondering which schools have had the longest bus rides in Illinois playoff history?

The 8A 2015 playoffs Edwardsville/Waubonsie game in round 1 was something like 300 miles from Aurora to Edwardsville. Not sure but I think the ESL/Buffalo Grove might be a touch longer. Would have to map quest it out to verify. Both are very long bus rides!

In 2005 after we lost our third championship in a row, it seemed like it took 2 days to get home from Champagne.

Edwardsville to Huntley last week is pretty darn far.

IIRC way back in...1999 or 2000, Driscoll Catholic played Massac County from Metropolis which is on the far southernmost tip of Illinois...That had to be close to a 400 mile trip..I think Massac came to Addison....anyone remember? That would be a long ride!

I would have thought it would be at the mid to low A level where there are teams in the southern tip of the state, but also still small enough teams in outer McHenry county or toward Galena.

At 376 miles that may be the record holder.

Almost as long as your 7-year hiatus.

Interesting to note that your last post before your disappearance was critical of Carlos Zambrano after one of his tirades.

In 1997 ND went on the road to Champaign and Edwardsville on consecutive weeks and came away with two wins.

At this point, I think you could send Edwardsville to Siberia and they would come home with a W. The two trips they just made would have to be close to the top for distance traveled on consecutive trips.

I think it was 1999 or 2000 Warren had a Friday night first round game at Edwardsville. That’s a good 5 plus hours there

1,200 miles driven in 8 days for E'ville. Pretty amazing to come away 2-0 against 2 very solid teams.

I recall GBW, WV, MC all making the drive to the metro area and looked great against solid E'ville teams.

BW is right next to ESL and they had to make the trip to BG the week before. Your team has to learn to travel well. Everybody ends up having to do it at some point.
