Meh. The dam isn’t ready to break yet. The party is just getting started.
It's questionable if the NCAA or the conferences have the authority to do that under the lawsuit.I agree with Saban’s comments at the end of the ESPN piece (however genuine they may be - I can’t imagine Bama boosters haven’t “sponsored” his players for years). There should be ample ways for NCAA to regulate NIL within reason. For instance, to avoid it being directly used as a recruiting “sign on bonus,” wouldn’t it be reasonable and easy to say no one can sign an NIL deal until they’ve actually enrolled in school and practiced with the team? When large sums of money are blanket-offered to recruits, that’s not realistic/reasonable compensation. There should be some guideline for that - if you’re giving everyone including the backup punter $20K under some spokesperson deal, nope.
Expectations are always unrealistically high at mid-tier SEC schools like A&M. Like Burt at Arkansas, guys get brought in to these places and fired after one mediocre year because all the boosters don't understand why they aren't beating Bama all the time and they're going 4-4 in conference instead.Expectations will be very high, and I think Jimbo knows that. The Aggies went 8-4 after losing to LSU in the final SEC game and then missing their bowl.
A few more seasons like that with that $30M roster, and Jimbo will be toast.

It's not a land of realistic expectations.
Texas A&M may be mid-tier SEC but their facilities are like a temple to the gods.
Neither are their Yell Leaders! I wouldn’t mess with these tough hombres.Texas A&M may be mid-tier SEC but their facilities are like a temple to the gods. That school and alumni base is not fooling around relative to football.
This could turn into the Sopransos......kid gets NIL worth a lot of cash....doesnt perform......? Im seeing horse heads in beds..........but the increased pressure on the player to perform and win....the ante has increased across the board....I remember the days walking down Devon Ave in large groups...to Gaurdian Angel Orphanege to watch the Ramblers Club team playing Duquesene.....dogs running across the field...kids on bikes in the end zone.....The cheerleaders throwing cans of beer and Boones Farm wine to the crowd........simpler times....then Nick Rassas embezzled money intedned for bleachers and AD George Ireland put an end to it.....
Not as impressive as the amphitheater at Ephesus.I think I have been to Texas A&M's European facilities.

OK, you got my curiosity up. The amphitheater at Ephesus in modern day Turkey is certainly stunning with its 24,000 seating capacity and 1,000 standing room with its current day use as a concert venue that has seen the likes of Elton John, Ray Charles, and Diana Ross perform there. Not as impressive as the amphitheater at Ephesus.

An interesting Biblical connection between the two locales. Paul's sermon on the Unknown God was given from Mars Hill just around the corner from the amphitheater at the Acropolis in Athens and by tradition he also preached at the amphitheater at Ephesus.
