You're aware that NU basketball had a 13 game losing streak last year? You can't insult that. Give me a break. He played more minutes for Collins than anybody on our roster. To say he is a bad basketball player insults everybody associated with NU basketball last year.

One can easily point out that we had zero other small forwards on the team.Do you realize that you are arguing against yourself (again)? If Kopp were the most effective, then he should have been playing the most, which is what Collins ended up doing!
I am not arguing against myself whatsoever.Do you realize that you are arguing against yourself (again)? If Kopp were the most effective, then he should have been playing the most, which is what Collins ended up doing!
| Miller Kopp | .945 | 1.087 |
| Boo Buie | .925 | 1.095 |
| Pete Nance | .922 | 1.039 |
| Ryan Young | .914 | 1.049 |
| Ty Berry | .912 | 1.084 |
| Robbie Beran | .889 | 1.022 |
| Chase Audige | .866 | 1.021 |
| Anthony Gaines | .865 | .969 |

CC couldn’t wait for him to leave. He played more minutes for Collins than anybody on our roster. To say he is a bad basketball player insults everybody associated with NU basketball last year.

I did not say Kopp sucked, so please try to answer my question in a fair manner.I am not arguing against myself whatsoever.
I am just pointing out exactly what you repeated.
People who think Collins is a coaching genius cannot also think that Miller Kopp sucks.
My explanation is a bit nuanced - perhaps too complicated for many on this board.
We repeatedly used two bad lineups last year...
1. Nance with Beran and any 3 players.
2. Young without a power forward.
Here is a table of performance ratings (our points/their points) for each of our guys last year.
"Logical Lineups" are any lineup besides the two bad lineups.
Player------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall ------- in Logical Lineups
Miller Kopp .945 1.087 Boo Buie .925 1.095 Pete Nance .922 1.039 Ryan Young .914 1.049 Ty Berry .912 1.084 Robbie Beran .889 1.022 Chase Audige .866 1.021 Anthony Gaines .865 .969 Ryan Greer .865 .844
I should point out that because Young and/or Nance were involved in all of the logical lineups, they will naturally fall in the middle of the team's ratings.
Beran benefits enormously because he is only playing with Ryan Young in the frontcourt.
Gaines and Greer didn't measure up.
Buie and Berry were our most effective guards.
Kopp was not a stiff, but as Gato pointed out, we didnt have much of an alternative.
I did.I did not say Kopp sucked, so please try to answer my question in a fair manner.
I just hope we see a new Audige this year. I did not see him as an asset last year in terms of team play.I am not arguing against myself whatsoever.

If he can simply play defense and cut down the dumb/hero ball shots, he'll raise the team another level from what we've seen so far.I just hope we see a new Audige this year. I did not see him as an asset last year in terms of team play.
Uh no. The question was - how do you reconcile saying Collins misuses his players (eg Kopp) when he played him the most and he had the best scored/allowed ratio?I did.
Actually you didn't ask that question.Uh no. The question was - how do you reconcile saying Collins misuses his players (eg Kopp) when he played him the most and he had the best scored/allowed ratio?
Trace Jackson-Davis is a great college player. His 43 points tonight are the most scored by an IU player in 25 years. NU held him to 22 and 10 points in the games they split against the Hoosiers last season.Ind has a really good center- i think he scored 40+ for hoosiers tonite. Will be big matchup problem for us. Looks 7'. Fast as nance. But almost as strong as young?? I look forward to playing them this season. I think we can win
Confirmed by whom?Kropp was never happy and CC was happy to see him go. Thats a confirmed fact.
Confirmed by whom?
Its funny - I distinctly recall the dialog about Kopp's departure and how it evolved into "He's a crybaby and a quitter and a bad influence in the locker room."
Never heard anything like that before he left NU...
strange, isn't it?
What about programs like NU basketball? Not strange at all. Good programs don’t air their dirty laundry in public.
Kopp being unhappy was out in the rumor mill long before he transferred. Pretty sure most people wouldn’t post rumors that 1) they didn’t have first hand knowledge were true or 2) they had knowledge of, but didn’t want to share out of respect for the program and/or player. What about programs like NU basketball?
I am not a fan of the alledged leader of the team standing at the 3point line waiting for his teammates to do all of the dirty work to get him a shot. We all played with that guy at lower levels or at the Y. Eventually you let him stand at the line and be a non factor.Kopp is a unidimensional player who when he is on is a good shooter. Does not add much else. Casey Simmons is going to be 10X the player he is
Are you familiar with the internet?Pretty sure most people wouldn’t post rumors that 1) they didn’t have first hand knowledge were true
When I played pickup ball, we used to call those guys, "Hongos". They always looked for their shots first. Audige was out-of-control more than any player I've ever seen at NU. He has talent, but he must be reined in or sit. Our record without him shows how much we've missed him - not much.I just hope we see a new Audige this year. I did not see him as an asset last year in terms of team play.
The best possible source.Confirmed by whom?

Ned and the other top people had a wine and cheese deal this afternoon and he gave me a call. Nu admin is firmly behind fitz for one more year. Fitz is having a tuff time finishing out recruiting. One of @Turk ’s top people?
Agree it’s absolutely shameful that B-Jo doesn’t have an endorsement yet from Buff JoesNed and the other top people had a wine and cheese deal this afternoon and he gave me a call. Nu admin is firmly behind fitz for one more year. Fitz is having a tuff time finishing out recruiting.
Imo fitz needs to put his ego aside and start finding endorsement deals for players. one of only a couple P5 programs with goose eggs for player endorsements. We are in trouble.
The best source would be Ryan Young, Boo Buie or Pete Nance. The best possible source.
I think he can. Our program was caught offguard with this but it needs to focus on developing resources for players as other programs do, otherwise its going to be bad. Unfortunately, this board doesnt encourage post related to this important topic.Agree it’s absolutely shameful that B-Jo doesn’t have an endorsement yet from Buff Joes
