The best source would be Ryan Young, Boo Buie or Pete Nance.
This "confirmed" story sounds like fiction.

Who stands to benefit from the "confirmed" story?

Hmmm..... the coach?
Let it go White Boy. The best source, how about Kopp himself. read between the lines.

Kopp told somebody publicly that he was a quitter, whiner, crybaby and that his old coach was happy to be rid of him?

Story just keeps getting weirder.

As an aside, I read an article where his new coach said publicly "Miller isn't used to being asked to play defense..."

"He knows I can shoot and help stretch the floor," Kopp says. "That's something I can do. At the same time, there's a lot of untapped potential to my game in terms of defense and rebounding."

Stop putting words in my mouth. Have you every been on a team that you had to actually try out for? What is so unbelievable about people on the inside knowing a player is unhappy. Do you think the player doesn’t either express the unhappiness or show obvious signs of displeasure. You draw all types of conclusions from your minutes breakdown but somehow question these posts by challenging that Kopp called himself a quitter, whiner, and crybaby? Where on earth were these terms used? Not by me.

In the side note- I am glad he isn’t used to be ing asked to play defense, because he played next to none when he was at NU. Here’s a new one, how about he actually tries to play defense without being asked? That quote smacks of it’s not on me for my lack of a well rounded game, it’s those mean fellas at NU that develop my game and didn’t give me a chance.

What??? A Big Ten player on scholarship needs to be asked to play defense? Untapped potential in terms of defense and rebounding? Gee, I'm glad the genius coaches at IU have filled Miller in on these secret aspects of basketball. What a shame that Coach Collins forbid Kopp from guarding anyone or going after rebounds.

Defense and rebounding are first about "want to" and then coaching. If a player is four years into major college basketball stating he has untapped potential in those areas then first, he never had want to and, second, he is never going to find it. That statement by Kopp is all you need to know.

I'm really not sure how anyone here can, or not, be so sure about the real situation. There are two sides to every story. And so often no one is pointing out any issues with someone, until they leave, and suddenly they were not competent, hard working, etc. Seen it happen 1,000 times in the corporate world.

Was that the case? I don't know, and unless someone has access to the entire roster and staff, neither does anyone here.

All I can do is guess and, for me, it's likely he was not a good fit anymore. But if anyone is sure of that, and I am not amongst them, cite your sources. And there better be more than 1.

This anti-Miller Kopp vitriol is just sour grapes and scapegoating.

Somebody made up a story that Collins wanted Kopp gone and a handful of lemmings bought it.

I'm not even a fan of Kopp. I just take issue with the personal attacks.

CoralSpringsCat - "Best thing that could have happened for NU. Addition by subtraction."
The Purple Knight - "Kropp was never happy and CC was happy to see him go. Thats a confirmed fact."
The Purple Knight - "CC couldn’t wait for him to leave."
mkilla - "The stats don't lie. He's a bad basketball player and a prima donna."
Sec 112 - "I find a lack of self-awareness in Kopp's whining and strutting on his way out the door."
julescat - "Good riddance. Weirdo."
thewildcat2011 - "Often, removing a cancer can help heal a patient."
The Purple Knight - "From a very good source the coaches couldn’t wait for him to get out of there. Unhappy, moody and soft."

Having taken the time to look thru some posts, it is clear that The Purple Knight is the primary offender.

Coral proclaimed all of our recruits 4 stars and claimed our coaches are studs.
Once someone leaves, he starts the "He sucked addition by subtraction garbage" except he says it in a more cultured way.

But his math isnt too good. We keep losing more games in football with his addition by subtraction.

I agree there are two sides to every story. The “rumor” was out there while Kopp was here. I am by no means an insider and posting what to me are “rumors” is not right.

Though I am not one of them, there are a few posters that are at least partially connected with an insider. You might even say they are an insider. I suspect based on some postings and other information that person making the claim is at least partially an insider. This isn’t a case of Turk and his imaginary friend Ned.

So, let me that this logic straight. It is ok to rip current players on the roster for their performance but it’s not Ok to point out that former players were not good players? That suddenly is sour grapes even if you pointed out those deficiencies when the said player was still at NU?

also, putting up posters quotes without the context of what they were replying to is akin to your playing minutes in a vacuum stats. It’s not the whole story.

Nobody said that. Nothing even close to that.

I know that this is a message bored, but my current question about Kopp is, really, who cares? The kid isn't on the team, let him go.
Point taken. Will just state, that I expect NU will be fired up for Indiana Game this year. We’ll see.

Yeah, all I know is I personally didn't mind seeing him go at the time he decided to transfer and feel the same way now as well. Is he a whiner/baby? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. I have no clue either way.

But he's not on the team anymore and that's fine with me. When he was hitting shots, he was a valuable contributor. But when he wasn't, which started to become a lot more often than the times he was hitting shots, he was actually a detriment. I'm not necessarily rooting against him at IU, but I don't really care if he does well or not. Though I do hope we shut him down and beat the Hoosiers when we play him. Beyond that, whatever. I moved on long ago.

End of story for me.

Kopp is having a good game against Syracuse. Indiana was down 16 at half and has come back to even.

Will 7 mins left, Kopp has 17 points and has been effective. Even drove a couple of times
