No, I am just saying that he hasn't earned the right to say anything about the guys there now any more than the rest of us. And it kinda pissed me off at the game last week when he came out at the end of the 3rd quarter of a game he picked us to lose to give us a rah rah speech to help them win. Just my opinion, I don't like some of the things he does or says. Like I said, it's easy to bash and slam, what good is that going to do for the rest of the year? We have some winnable games coming up, except Alabama, if everybody just mails it in, fans included, and starts all the basketball chatter, what does that say to the guys that are working their *** off? It's disrespectful and its undermining.

Jared is a fan. I am not sure he is disciplined enough to to lead a football search. He could have been a much better QB, but never seemed committed enough to do the things that required. Most people blessed with amazing potential never realize that potential.

He is a fan with a stage. I would leave it at that.

Never ceases to fail. We have two, 3 winnable game this year tops. The team right now is a complete joke. Did you even watch the game yesterday, pumper?

Trust me, I am far from a sunshine pumper and I could personally give a rats *** about MB. All I am trying to say here is that it's the easy way out to just throw in the towel, start pointing fingers and start talking basketball. This is football season dammit, we had 2 terrible games, we need to get better. Quoting Lorenzen, Matt Jones or some assclown on CBS does nothing but undermine. Thats my main point. We have 10 games left to play, let's play a few before we start ordering the UHaul trucks and the upper level Rupp seats. I will be at the game Saturday as I have been the last 26 years. Nobody needs to tell me about bad football because I have seen the worst. I respectfully disagree that these guys dont know how to coach. Now is there some tinkering to do and improvements to be made? Obviously.

Tinkering? Do you truly think that right now that the HEAD coach knows how to be a head coach? There is a big difference in coaching at a position and being the head man.

He hasn't earned the right more than you? Dude, he gave his sweat and football collegiate career to UK. He was a bright spot after probation. He was a joy to have and watch. And he still loves UK and wants us to succeed.

Take that bull somewhere else.

Yep....

People soon forget, Lorenzen did not lead us to ONE quality win over a SEC opponent while he was here and he has the single biggest choke of any UK play in history.

That's when he threw an interception to Florida when all he had to do was run out of bounds and milk the clock for the win.

Lorenzen cost us a sure win against Florida. He has some gall to pile on right now..

If anyone has a right to speak up, it's Woodson who actually WON GAMES against quality SEC opponents. Lorenzen didn't have a single quality SEC win.

Memories are very short around here....Lorenzen is very overrated.

One of the dumbest post I've seen in two weeks, and that's really really saying something. I mean really saying something

I am glad Jared calls it like he sees it because he likely has more insight than the average fan. Plus, he should be an expert on what bad football looks like. His four seasons:

2000: 2-9
2001: 2-9
2002: 7-5
2003: 4-8

Granted, he had the misfortune of playing for three head coaches in four years and was a freshman in 2000 when the wheels were coming off for Mumme and his staff. But fair or not, the Lorenzen years weren't exactly a golden era of UK football.

Tim Couch shouldn't give his opinions either....

1996: 4-7
1997: 5-6
1998: 7-5

Or that fool Nick Saban

Kent State

1970: 3-8
1971: 3-8

These types of posts couldn't get any dumber.

Totally agree...I remember that dumbass interception so very well....let's face it...no one has any answers here....this job, despite having great fan support, is a dead end job ....Kentucky only produces about 2 D-1 players a year....and can't recruit outside of the state well enough to be consistent

Was listening to some post game stuff last night and some excellent points were made. We have always stated that it was tough to recruit in a state where there is very little home grown D1 talent. I can agree with that but how does U of L compete against FSU and Clemson and bowl games, and how does WKU beat us with the same Ky kids? I will hang up and listen.

I think being on an NFL team that won two super bowls is enough cred to listen to him. and before you say he didnt do anything... go do some research on the responsibilities of back up QB's ... they are basically assistant coaches who can play when needed.

You have bitched since day one since you arrived like a pathetic little piss ant and when someone with more credibility than you will ever have voiced an opinion he is piling on?

You are absolutely awful.

Following me around again I see...You are obsessed with me for some creepy reason.

I stand by Lorenzen doesn't have any courage to pile on the UK program right now when he didn't do any better himself. No quality wins for him. NONE against SEC teams that were ranked.

Give me Woodson over JLo any day.

Lorenzen went 7-5 and would have been 8-4 if not for the miracle from Nick Saban. plus, the Lorenzen teams were minus about 20 scholarships

So I guess this is like Elementary school where you and your few friends on the board go around and like each other's posts against me, right?

How old are you? Are you actually trying to engage in internet bullying as an adult? I think you and your few friends that go around liking each other posts are actually trying to bully people.

I've got no dog in this fight, but to accuse a person on a computer of stalking you because you truly in your mind believe they have a beef against your opinions on a public message board is kinda narcissistic.

Brian has been posting here since God invented computers. I sincerely doubt he is stalking you or your posts.

Maybe we can get back to the issue at hand and quit with the Internet version of stuffing someone in a locker. JLo has a right to voice his opinion, and his is obviously one formed from experience playing QB in the SEC. Was he right in his analysis - probably.

Having said that there are unwritten rules in sports, and he is free to dog his former team; however, with his involvement with Uk football and his tshirt business I don't think he will benefit in the future for either with either venture.

As far as his ability to comment given his record at UK that will be for fans to decide. Some will see him as the lovable chubby QB with a strong that got a sniff of the NFL. Others will see him as a fat blowhard with no discipline to stop eating, who talked better than his losing record would show, never beat Florida or UT or any top teams, and made one of the largest bone head plays in UK history costing us the Florida game. While he has a right to criticize the current team I am sure his critics will rightly say his leading the UK team to the same types of blowout losses against Florida and Tennessee don't make sense. I looked up our record during his time at UK per one of the posters, and sure enough we beat a lot of Ball State's and Indianas during his tenure with a few Vandy's and Miss States mixed in.

We are all frustrated right now and need a change, and hopefully we can spit out a miracle and find a fix for this program. People don't realize how good of a coach Brooks really was at UK and Oregon.

I seriously doubt that Barnhart will pull anything on JLo in retaliation for his comments. Lorenzen is a public figure in the football community here and won't be bullied.

Regardless of his weight, which I'm sorry you pointed out for no reason, he knows football. He was on the Giants and he was closer to the NFL than any of us were. Just because his NFL career went nowhere doesn't invalidate the accuracy of his statements. Are they harsh? Yep, but he lived/died for this program. He isn't the first to comment on its state either.

And he won't be the last.

How JLo's opinions are treated on this board depends completely on whether the poster agrees or not. If he slammed Stoops and Mitch, a vocal contingent thinks he is akin to an assistant NFL coach and if he supported Stoops, the same posters would saying he was a tub O lard who knows nothing.

Who teaches the wr's to block?

Who is responsible for the team's passion and effort?

Why have coaches at all if they are not going to teach fundamentals and inspire the players?

I like you, but IMO, your defense of the coaches is so amiss that I cannot wrap my head around it.

Yeh that Lorenzen was a horrible QB. Current SEC and UK statistics for him below.

#4 all time in SEC for completions
#7 all time in SEC for passing yards
#8 all time in SEC for touchdowns thrown
#1 all time in SEC number of plays ran
#8 all time in SEC for total yards

#1 all time at UK in passing yards
#2 all time at UK in touchdowns thrown
#1 all time at UK in single game passing yards
#1 all time at UK in total yardage
#1 all time at UK in total touchdowns

All this done while playing under 3 different coaching staffs. You're clueless.

So he is just piling on like everybody else. Gee that's a courageous stance. How many times did he beat Florida? Oh yea, none. Matter of fact, if he hadnt thrown a stupid interception when we had them beat maybe that streak ends 15 years ago. Find anything he says to be hollow. It's obvious he has his own agenda. His opinion on UK football matters very little to me
Jared was one of the great qbs for uk. I'd take him over any of the putrid qbs we've had since Woodson show the man some respect. His analysis has been more spot on than just about anyone's lately

We haven't had a QB that could sniff his farts...

forget kentucky records, he'd have NCAA records if he had the overall talent around him that this team has...

yet, i think i would take his crew over this one...they all had every excuse in the world to pack it in and go through the motions, but they didn't...out matched at every position every game and they knew it, probation, a qb who was as big as his OL...

jared especially played balls to the wall all the time...he had some pride, some passion, some moxy...Abney as well...

The only thing you can bash JLo about is his weight. I wish he could have played at UK at his NFL weight; he might have been an All-American. His weight really hurt him his last two seasons at UK.
I'm sure he does have some sour grapes about how the QB situation was handled last year. Bottom line is that Towels was ran out of town for Barker and he isn't any better. The coaches were looking for a scapegoat and he was one of them.
He is the last of our worries. Rant on JLo!

Please. I have agreed all along with Lorenzen's prediction for this particular season. But just because fans are angry, that doesn't make Lorenzen a P5 athletics director. LOL!
Dude, I would rather you hire the next coach than mitch.
