He will have to fire stoops. Stoops body of work this far should do it but the old 5 yr bs is what Mitch follows. No doubt though that if we lose today and no major change is made the enthusiasm for stoops will erode quicker than the 21 pt lead. Up 21 on UL and this? Heads should roll!

Have you seen the giant contract Mitch gave him? The only firing done to stoops will be if he manages to light up some Duraflames.
THis is unfortunately true...we're stuck with Spanky's dad on our sideline for at least 2-3 more years. Thanks again Mitch for another blank check that burns money thru UK's program once again.

Hey moron I have 1/3 of my posts on this forum and been going to UK FB games for 40 years. So just stop. we can raise the bar for UK football.
Even with 10 openings around the country UK would land a better football coach. The talent is going to be shutoff after this debacle. The other option is to force stoops to hire a staff of veteran coaches. Either may work nevertheless there has to be tremendous change
He's a clueless football only fan. He takes shots at basketball but knows jack about it. He actually said earlier UK b-ball "broke even on its profits when it made millions.
I was on board with Stoops, but after this season, it's become clear that our coaching staff is completely clueless. It seems as if they make a pre-game plan, if it goes well, they stick with it, if it goes poorly, they stick with it anyway. I have seen NOTHING from our staff that resembles an in game or halftime adjustment. We just keep doing the same thing over and over and over.
Mitch creates problems, he doesn't solve them. He hired Joker. He hired Gillispie. He hired Stoops. Show me an AD who has made three worse hires in the two major revenue sports. He should wake up every day and call Mike Pratt and thank him for getting Cal here. It's the only reason he's still employed, and the sad part about it is, if he'd had his way, he would have no doubt screwed up the Gillispie replacement as well.
Laughable? Your comment is the joke. Barnhart passed on Calipari when he hired Gillispie. The reason, he claimed, he hired Stoops was because Stoops "wanted" the job...Stoops wanted to be the coach, which to me implies, Barnhart's attitude must have been "what respectable coach would take this job". Of course, then we had the megafailure of Joker as the "Coach In Waiting". To his credit, Barnhart did hire Brooks, but if I recall, Brooks WAS EXPERIENCED. This is on Barnhart. Stoops wasn't ready, to add to his inexperience, he brings in some "buddies" who have little experience. Then he hired Dawson, who has not meaningful experience. The UK job will require someone who knows what he/they're doing. Stoops and this bunch of misfits are not the answer. Oh, and for good measure, Barnhart extends his contract before he's proven himself b/c he feared someone would hire him away, which is another example to incompetence of Barnhart in his hiring decisions. Before anyone points to his hiring of Cal as a defense for Barnhart, Cal is automatic wherever he is but at Kentucky (program/fanbase/tradition), Cal is the gold standard. Barnhart is a good man but so is my neighbor and he doesn't know anything about sports. Barnhart has screwed the fanbase/taxpayers with irresponsible hires like Gillispie and Stoops.
Until Mitch is gone we will never compete in football in a meaningful way. It's not about winning to Mitch Barnhart. It's about collecting SEC pie revenue and contract money. Period.
Mitch doesn't want "microwave" fans folks. I suspect he's gonna need a sunshine pumper cloning lab to fill Commonwealth next season. I hope the fans boycott the team until we get serious about having a real football program. Empty seats and dramatic drops in season ticket renewals will force Mitch to do something.

Coaches have universities by the nuts these days. Losing isn't conasidered "terminated with cause". You have to break the rules or do something off the field for that to happen. he could go 0-12 and you would owe him his buyout.
going into this game i was content with giving this staff another year or two, win or lose. but after watching the way our team lost in the most embarrassing way in the second half i say change is due now, from the head down, all around, whatever. we need to hire a head coach who has head coaching experience.

Why wait? Whether we give these clowns another year or not makes no difference. They aren't going to get any better. Next season will be an absolute disaster with even fewer wins. So why wait an extra year to do what is inevitable? We'll just be another year deeper in the hole by then. That is all giving Stoops one more year will accomplish.
