First, nothing happened at ND that would have warranted probation.Better check Lou got every team he coached put on probation except ND and they were to big a name to take down. He didn't leave ND to coach South Carolina because it was a better job.

After the Air Force game in 1996 he met with administration & told them he didn’t feel he was able to coach ND to the level they deserved and would step down. Then after a break from coaching he wanted to help turn South Carolina around because of his friendship with their AD.
Lou has turned down many coaching offers since.
I don’t think you want to throw out accusations towards any other coach when you had Tom running a Varsity Blues program for decades.
