End of the first quarter Cards up 21-9 on balanced scoring.

Watching on the ESPN app (ACCNX) … cards lead 21-9 after 1. Rough start with multiple turnovers, but the defense has been good throughout, and Berry, istanbulluoglu, and Roberts have all hit 3’s.

MBugua with an early appearance in the first quarter and drained a nice 15 foot jumper.

Wake trying a 2-3 zone, but Ziegler is crushing it by getting open in the middle and draining her 15 foot jumper (twice in a row).

Wake back to man-to-man. ZIegler with the nice high-low pass to Randolph for the layup. Cards up 30-17 with 3:51 left in 2nd quarter.

Cards with EIGHT steals so far! UofL with 10 assists to 5 TO’s, while WF has 4 assists and 12 turnovers.

Cards defense just forced its 3rd shot clock violation of the game. Ziegler with another 15 footer, followed by a 3 from Roberts. Just like that, Cards are up by 23.

Halftime 43-18 Cards like I posted earlier I am unable to watch the game but I am keeping up with it online. The scoring has been really balanced, I will have to watch this on YouTube later tonight.

Istanbulluoglu with the buzzer beating 10 footer from the baseline to give the Cards a 43-18 halftime lead.

Unfortunately, Berry twisted her right ankle just 7 seconds before halftime. Went back to the locker room early. We may not see her again in this one.

If this roster holds out and we have no transfer next year we will have 3- 6’3” players, 2- 6’4” players and 1- 6’-5” player. Put that together with good guards and good coaching and that is how you win a championship.

Might need to try to sweet talk Grace Oliver from this WF team into joining us next year. Just a sophomore, but she’s a heckuva player and basically the same size as Ziegler.
