One glaring thing Johnson can really handle the ball and with his size something we haven't had in awhile here at the guard spot. He gets to his spots without alot of problem. Main thing i'm noticing with him so far handling the point the ball is moving around more . Now granted it's EKU but he looks good so far.
Red, now you see him, now you don't. Tues night when DJ was in I notice he was doing a lot of chatter and leading guys. I'm not CCM, but DJ needs minutes, not secs.
Hope to see DJ get a lot of time today because I haven't had a chance to see his game. I know EKU is over matched but you can still tell some things like if his handles, play calling, etc. are decent.
Playing freshmen cost Cards some points, however theyve got to get more PT from them.

Mack talked about him really being behind defensively from that injury . Kinda hurts the team overall keeping him in for long stints because he is still learning the defensive sets.
Hancock is the modern day Robbie Valentine with game. Just as Valentine used his status as a player on a championship team . To carve out a very successful career . .Luke has been using the U of L platform to the fullest. Also doesn't hurt to have good looks and style as he does.
DJ looks smooth out there. Seems to have good handles and court vision.

Earler when he was in the ball movement was very good when he paired with Ryan . Then with Perry it allowed Perry to play off the ball which i think suits him best . Now they have him with Nickelberry we see how bad two freshman are. Haven't seen him with unfresh which then puts Johnson at his natural 2 spot..
I'm wondering if Sam can handle the ball like T-Will did. Enough to put him at the two . And Johnson at the point. Now i know thats two freshman but those two are clearly athletically better than Ryan Perry and Unfresh.
Cory the announcer just said something very interesting that needs to be really understood by our fanbase. "This team has up to 4 NBA players and their's alot of talent. But the key issue does it mesh?"
I don't like that long of a break before that game. Sure one could say that'll leave them rested, but it could also make them rusty right before a rivalry game in a hostile environment.
Do you agree with one of the announcers at the game. he was saying how Nwora needs to learn how to give up the ball to give his teammates a chance to score There was a couple times when Jordan had a some breakaways and went in for the challenged layup, when he could have gave it to the wide-open guy for a 3-pointer
He drives me up the wall especially on fast breaks he never gives the ball up . Just watch for yourself. Nwora is a what us old school ballers called a high shot taker "A GUNNER"
I understand maybe not giving it up to a guy at the 3 pt line when he’s at the rim looking for a foul but there were 2 occasions where he guys in front of him at the rim for layups or dunks and he took it himself. That can piss off some players who will do the same thing to him if he doesn’t become less selfish.
