Since Tennessee crapped the bed against South Crapolina, looks this will be one projection.

We still have a shot at the playoffs. An outside shot but a shot just the same. Playing in a Big 6 game on New Years day would be one hell of a consolation prize though.

The Cards just have to keep winning! That's all that matters right now.

Lamar Jackson had a Heisman moment yesterday with that 29 yard TD pass with :13 left on the clock to win the game! Another step closer. Just keep winning! It'll all shake out in the end.

Go CARDS!!!

I wasn't badmouthing the Wisconsin matchup. I was pointing out the fact that we look at bowl matchups when we are struggling with Duke and Virginia.

Ok....but really now it appears more and more likely we are headed to the Orange Bowl regardless....Clemson ain't losing...

The same FPI that has a 5-loss Ole Miss team ranked 14?

Seems legit.
It was the same FPI that showed the win-out probabilities for WVU, Baylor, and Nebraska to be lowest for P5 undefeateds this past weekend.

Still has my attention.

60%...

This was a good weekend in addition to the UofL win. Alot of the teams that could've gained ground on us lost, Ohio State looked very beatable again, really the Washington win was the main negative.

For playoff chances, I'm cheering for Washington State, Michigan, & whoever plays Texas A&M. If Wazzu stays unbeaten in the Pac-12 & beats undefeated Washington, I like our chances over them (UW). Michigan can take care of one-loss OSU & possibly Nebraska, and I doubt A&M makes it through the season without another loss. Not really that far-fetched of a scenario.

I will not complain about being in a New Years Day Orange Bowl. Of course, I would rather be in the CFP and I believe we still have a shot so long as we take care of OUR business. With our one loss we will need some help from someone on Washington's schedule. And, yes, I believe the ACC has a very legitimate shot at having two teams in the CFP.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Chris Fowler & Kirk Herbstreit were talking about the playoffs during the FSU vs Clemson game. They pointed out that there is still a lot of football left and a lot of things will change more than once. Last year at this point in the season only one of the top 4 teams made it to the playoffs and that was Alabama.

Clemson was ranked #1 and Alabama #4 when 1st rankings came out last year for College football playoff.

Yeah, and the Cards also smacked the black off that a** when they played FSU and (most recently) NCST.

Hell, Uh-hi-uh State struggled with Northwestern on Saturday. And I bet WVU, Baylor, and Boise would all take a close, hard-fought win on the road on Saturday. Can't expect to win every game by 40 points.

Indiana's coach called some absolutely horrible plays in the red zone against Ohio State. If not for that, Indiana could have possibly won that game.

OSU plays Michigan, and then the B10 title game is a factor. Dont see how we get the B10 spot in the playoffs, but seems most logical.

Bama getting in. If Clemson runs it, then them. I thought I read that the committee highly favors conference champs. So that being said, Wash needs to lose.

That's my point. I think chaos with the undefeateds losing isn't the best option but rather the just one-loss teams taking another loss. Michigan going undefeated helps clear out OSU, Wazzu is the easiest way to keep UW out of the Pac-12 championship game, & Texas A&M needs to drop another one.

The Cards got screwed on the first poll coming in 7th. One loss to Clemson at Clemson who is #2,and Ohio State losing to unranked Penn State is ranked ahead of them at 6th, and undefeated Washington is 5th with Texas A&M 4th. Michigan 3rd, Clemson 2nd, and Alabama 1st. UofL should be ranked no worse than 6th. Nobody can tell me that OSU belongs ranked ahead of UofL. I can accept Washington and even A&M ahead at this point but not OSU. That's crap.

I really don't think that A&M deserves to be ranked above the Cards either.....considering the Cards defeated them to end the season last year and A&M's lose to Bama was a blow out and UofL's loss to Clemson was whisker close and came down to the last series of the game. Where is the justice in that?

Cards deserve better.....and have 4 games in the next 30 days to prove it on the field that they deserve the T-4 ranking......that and get some help with others being taken down with a 'L' or 2.

As Yogi Berra was so fond of saying "It ain't over, till it's over"! So, it ain't over yet.....the fat lady still hasn't sung.

Is there any way the Cards could win out and not get into the playoffs or the New Years six bowls?
Say Clemson loses to Va Tech in ACC Champioship game. If Clemson falls from top 4 but stays above UofL in rankings wouldn't Va Tech go to Orange and Clemson go to Cotton?

Dang that's a discouraging scenario, but yes under those circumstances, it could happen.

However I would say that if Clemson lost to what is considered a poor VT team, the pollsters would drop them below us or at least the Cotton Bowl officials would have to make a decision between two teams who have fans that travel well.

Speaking of which, VT lost to Tennessee and freaking Syracuse. Syracuse! VT is ranked way too high.

I might have a New Years Eve Eve game watch party myself. Don't know yet what I'll do about a bowl.

Even if we're in the FPO I'm not in a position to go to both games. Do you go to the first one and save for the NC game? Or skip the first hoping for a win?

Decisions, decisions.

(That us old farts have been waiting on for 32 years) :)
